Der Sound von Django Reinhardt und dem Quintette du Hot Club de France! Im Geiste der legendären Pariser Brutstätte des Gipsy-Jazz bringt der Hot Club of Berlin die originalen Arrangements und Kompositionen von Django Reinhardt und seinen Weggefährten wie auch die Spielfreude und den “Vibe”.

Der Hot Club of Berlin wird von Francisco Batista & Thomas Dekas geleitet, stilistisch erfahrene Gitarristen, die schon mit den großen Namen der Gypsy-Jazz-Welt wie Mozes Rosenberg, Paulus Schäfer, Gonzalo Bergara, Sebastien Giniaux auf der Bühne standen. Begleitet werden sie dieses Mal von Martin Buhl, ebenfalls einer von Djangos, Schnuckenacks und Grappellis Erben.
Diese Konzertreihe findet einmal im Monat im Zig Zag statt und der Hot Club lädt verschiedene Künstler ein um dem Gipsy-Jazz Tribut zu zollen.
In der Dezemberausgabe ist es außerdem ein kleines Jubiläum, da der Hot Club Berlin seit nunmehr einem Jahr bei uns im Zig Zag gastiert. Und das sollte gebührend gefeiert werden! Wie immer kommt dabei mit jedem Gast ein neuer musikalischer Leckerbissen auf den Tisch. Dieses Mal ist es Rodrigo Bauzá!

Bauzá wurde 1983 in Argentinien geboren und lebt heute in Berlin, wo er als Geiger und Komponist tätig ist. Der Vollblutvirtuose wurde durch die Folkloremusik seiner Heimat zur Musik gebracht und studierte später an der Leipziger Musikhochschule, wo er u.a. Unterricht mit Richie Beirach hatte. In den letzten Jahren spielte er u.a mit internationalen Namen wie Rolf Kühn, Derrick Hodge, Marcus Gilmore, Peter Ehwald sowie mit lokalen Größen wie Tal Arditi, Diego Piñera und Igor Spallati.

In the spirit of the legendary Parisian hotbed of Gipsy Jazz, the Hot Club of Berlin brings the original arrangements and compositions of Django Reinhardt and his companions as well as the joy of playing and the "vibe".The Hot Club of Berlin is led by Francisco Batista & Thomas Dekas, stylistically experienced guitarists who have been on stage with the big names of the Gypsy Jazz world such as Mozes Rosenberg, Paulus Schäfer, Gonzalo Bergara, Sebastien Giniaux. This time they will be accompanied by Martin Buhl, also one of Django's, Schnuckenack's and Grappelli's heirs.This concert series takes place once a month at Zig Zag and the Hot Club invites different artists to pay tribute to Gipsy Jazz.

The December issue also marks a small anniversary, as Hot Club Berlin has been a guest at Zig Zag for a year now. And that should be duly celebrated! As always, each guest brings a new musical delicacy to the table. This time it's Rodrigo Bauzá!

Bauzá was born in Argentina in 1983 and now lives in Berlin, where he works as a violinist and composer. The thoroughbred virtuoso was brought to music by the folk music of his homeland and later studied at the Leipzig Musikhochschule, where he had lessons with Richie Beirach, among others. In recent years he has played with international names such as Rolf Kühn, Derrick Hodge, Marcus Gilmore, Peter Ehwald as well as local greats such as Tal Arditi, Diego Piñera and Igor Spallati.
