New York, NY. - Der amerikanische Saxophonist, Komponist und Autor Walt Weiskopf und sein europäisches Quartett kündigen ihre fünfte, Wintertournee an, die sie durch Europa und Skandinavien führen wird. Die dreiwöchige Tournee des Walt Weiskopf European Quartet (WWEQ) beginnt in Polen und wird im Januar und Februar 2022 auch in Dänemark, Belgien, Deutschland, Frankreich und Spanien zu hören sein.

Neben Weiskopf gehören zu WWEQ drei der führenden und gefragtesten Rhythmusgruppen Europas, Carl Winther (Piano), Andreas Lang (Bass) und Anders Mogensen (Schlagzeug), die weiterhin die musikalische Kraft von WWEQ bilden, beeindruckende Zeichen setzen und weltweit Aufmerksamkeit erregen.

Anfang dieses Jahres nahmen WWEQ aufgrund von Reisebeschränkungen aus der ganzen Welt an drei verschiedenen Orten (Weiskopf/USA, Mogensen und Winther/Dänemark und Lang/Deutschland) Introspection 2.0" auf, eine Erweiterung ihres Albums Introspection" aus dem Jahr 2020. Das Album wurde im vergangenen Oktober veröffentlicht und von der Kritik hoch gelobt.

Walt Weiskopf, der von der Kritik gefeierte Alben und unzählige Sideman-Credits vorweisen kann, begann seine Karriere im Alter von 21 Jahren in der Buddy Rich Band. In den folgenden Jahren hat er mehr als 20 CDs mit den besten zeitgenössischen Jazzmusikern veröffentlicht, darunter Brad Mehldau, John Pattituci, Joe Magnarelli, Renee Rosnes, Joe Locke, Conrad Herwig, Peter Zak, Billy Drummond und Peter Washington, um nur einige zu nennen. Seit 18 Jahren ist Weiskopf weiterhin aktives Mitglied der Steely Dan Band.

New York, NY. – American saxophonist, composer, and author Walt Weiskopf and his European quartet announce their fifth, in-person winter tour, hitting the international jazz circuit throughout Europe and Scandinavia. Commencing in Poland, the Walt Weiskopf European Quartet (WWEQ) three-week tour will also perform in Denmark, Belgium, Germany, France, and Spain through January and February 2022.

Along with Weiskopf, WWEQ includes three of Europe's finest and most sought-after rhythm section artists Carl Winther (piano), Andreas Lang (bass), and Anders Mogensen (drums) who continue to comprise the WWEQ musical force, making impressive marks and attracting worldwide attention.

Earlier this year and because of world travel limitations, WWEQ remotely recorded “Introspection 2.0,” an extension to their 2020 “Introspection” album, from three different locations (Weiskopf/U.S.A.; Mogensen and Winther/Denmark; and Lang/Germany). The album was released this past October with critical acclaim:
