Herbie Hancocks Headhunters ist nicht nur eines der meistverkauftesten, sondern auch eines der stilprägendsten und besten Alben der Jazzgeschichte. Auf kaum einer Scheibe gehen schwindelerregende Jazzimprovisationen, hypnotische Grooves und ausgefeilte Kompositionen derart Hand in Hand. Und wer wenn nicht Tastenmagier Uri Gincel könnte diesem Meisterwerk die Ehre erweisen? Gemeinsam mit einer Band bestehend aus den gefragtesten Berliner Hochleistungsjazzern widmet sich Gincel der Musik aus Hancocks Schaffensperiode der 70er Jahre. Ein absolutes Must-See!

Uri Gincel ist einer der gefragtesten und angesehensten Jazzpianisten in Berlin. Gincels Stil ist stark in der Tradition verwurzelt, aber er versteht es, den Jazz in die Moderne zu bringen. Sein Spiel ist dynamisch, lyrisch und vor allem voller Energie und Kraft! Der in Tel Aviv geborene Gincel kam 2009 nach Berlin und wurde schnell zu einem einflussreichen Teil der Jazzszene. Uri tourte mit vielen Projekten um die Welt, darunter das "Uri Gincel Trio" und "Bonaparte", und studierte bei bedeutenden Musikern wie Arnie Lawrence und Walter Blending Jr.

Trotz seines jungen Alters hat der Trompeter und Komponist Florian Menzel, der 1988 in Arnsberg im Sauerland geboren wurde, bereits beachtliche Erfahrungen und Erfolge in der Welt der Musik erreicht. Im Jahr 2007 wurde er von der Deutschen Jazz Föderation mit dem "SkodaJazzAward" für seine herausragenden instrumentalen Fähigkeiten ausgezeichnet und 2 Jahre später gewann er den ersten Preis beim "Yamaha Trumpet Contest 2009". Außerdem wurde er während seines Studiums am Jazz Institut Berlin (JIB) mit dem "Savoy Award of Excellence 2011" für seinen außergewöhnlichen musikalischen und sozialen Beitrag ausgezeichnet. Als Bandleader und Sideman hat er unter anderem mit Peter Weniger, Mark Wyand, Rich Perry, Winard Harper, Greg Cohen, Torsten Goods, Till Broenner, Gerard Presencer und Bill Forman zusammengearbeitet.

Ben Kraef ist ein deutsch-montenegrinischer Saxophonist und Komponist, der in Berlin lebt. Ben schloss sein Studium an der Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin ab und erwarb 2009 einen Master of Arts am City College of New York, wo er 2008 mit dem Billie-Stoller-Stipendium für einen herausragenden Wissenschaftler und Musiker ausgezeichnet wurde. Die Liste der international renommierten Musiker mit denen Ben auftrat und aufnahm, umfasst Koryphäen wie Lalo Schifrin, Fred Hersch, Pee Wee Ellis und Till Brönner sowie Popgruppen wie "Wir Sind Helden" und die Radio-Bigbands von HR und WDR.

Seit vielen Jahren gehört Thomas Stieger zu den meist beschäftigten Bassisten, Sidemen und Sessionmusikern Deutschlands. Lebhaft in Berlin, arbeitet er für national und international renommierte Acts und Künstlern der europäischen Szene unterschiedlichster Genres, die größtenteils der bunten Welt der Pop-, Rock-, Soul- und Jazzmusik zuzuordnen sind. Hier eine kleine Auswahl der vielen Künstler, mit denen er performen, touren und recorden durfte: Wolfgang Haffner, Randy Brecker, Bill Evans, Nils Landgren, Simon Oslender, Christopher Dell, Gregory Porter, Michael Wollny, Sarah Connor, Martin Grubinger, Berliner Philharmoniker, HR Bigband, NDR Radiophilharmonie, und vielen mehr.

Magro vereint in seiner Musik viele seiner musikalischen Einflüsse wie Herbie Hancock, J Dilla und Chris Dave. In der Berliner Jazz-Peripherie kommt man anan dem umtriebigen Multitalent nur schwer vorbei. Im Laufe der Jahre Magro hat mit zahlreichen KünstlerInnen als Schlagzeuger und Produzent zusammengearbeitet, darunter Kurt Rosenwinkel, Wayne Snow und BIGYUKI. Darüber hinaus war er Produzent vieler Alben und Singles von Leona Berlin – darunter „Wrong Lane (featuring Snoop Dogg)“. Nachdem 2021 sein erstes Album „Trippin“ erschien und mit dem „Deutschen Jazzpreis“ (für „Debütalbum des Jahres“) ausgezeichnet wurde, veröffentlichte er vor kurzem sein zweites Werk.

Uri Gincel is one of the most in demand and respected Jazz pianists in Berlin. Gincel´s style can be described as heavily rooted in tradition but with sensibility and understanding of bringing jazz into the modern age. His playing is dynamic, lyrical and above full of energy and power! Born in Tel-Aviv, Gincel came to Berlin in 2009 and quickly became an influential part of the Jazz scene, Uri toured the world with many projects, including "Uri Gincel Trio” and “Bonaparte” and studied under some major musicians as Arnie Lawrence and Walter Blending Jr.

Ben Kraef is a German-Montenegrin saxophonist and composer based in Berlin. After releasing his debut album "Trippin" in 2021, which won the "German Jazz Award" for "Debut Album of the Year," he recently released his second album.
