Mit Roosevelt Collier begrüßen wir zum wiederholten Mal einen der Künstler, die es schaffen schlichtweg großartige und unfassbar groovende Musik zu spielen, ohne sich von den vermeintlichen Grenzen ihres Instrumentes beeindrucken zu lassen. Der zur Snarky-Puppy-Peripherie gehörende Roosevelt Collier bringt die Slide-Gitarre virtuos in den Jazz!

Der aus Südflorida stammende Roosevelt Collier ist von Natur aus ein zurückhaltender Mann, der seine Stimme lieber auf der Pedal Steel Guitar erhebt. Aufgewachsen in der "Sacred Steel"-Tradition der House of God Church, hat Roosevelt seinen Ruf an der Seite seiner Onkel und Cousins in der Band The Lee Boys aufgebaut, die für ihre temperamentvollen und beseelenden Live-Auftritte bekannt ist.Seine virtuose Kunst an der selten gehörten Pedal-Steel-Gitarre hinterlässt einen unauslöschlichen Eindruck bei seinen begeisterten Zuhörern Auf Festivals ist er regelmäßig als Künstler gefeatured und tritt neben vielen der renommiertesten Acts auf, darunter die Allman Brothers, Tedeschi-Trucks, Los Lobos, die Del McCoury Band und zahlreiche andere. 2017 stellte Roosevelt sein neues Projekt Bokanté vor - eine "World Music All-Star Band", die von Snarky Puppy-Gründer Michael League ins Leben gerufen wurde. Als Bandleader leitet Roosevelt seine weltberühmten "Get-Downs" mit einer Mischung aus "Superstars und Kirchenvolk", sein eigenes All-Star-Trio im Stil des "Jimi Hendrix Experiments" 2018 veröffentlichte er sein lang erwartetes Debütalbum, das eine unglaubliche Mischung aus Blues, Gospel, Rock und Funk enthält, die von Produzent und Bandkollege Michael League zusammengestellt wurde.

Belonging to the Snarky Puppy periphery, Roosevelt Collier brings the slide guitar to jazz with virtuosity!

A native of South Florida, Roosevelt Collier is a reserved man by nature, preferring to raise his voice on pedal steel guitar. Raised in the "Sacred Steel" tradition of the House of God Church, Roosevelt built his reputation playing alongside his uncles and cousins in the band The Lee Boys, known for their spirited and soulful live performances. His virtuosic artistry on the rarely heard pedal steel guitar leaves an indelible impression on his enthusiastic audiences He is a regularly featured artist at festivals, performing alongside many of the most renowned acts, including The Allman Brothers, Tedeschi Trucks, Los Lobos, The Del McCoury Band and numerous others. In 2017, Roosevelt unveiled his new project, Bokanté - a "world music all-star band" created by Snarky Puppy founder Michael League. As bandleader, Roosevelt leads his world-famous "get-downs" with a mix of "superstars and church folk," his own all-star trio in the style of the "Jimi Hendrix Experiment" In 2018, he released his long-awaited debut album, featuring an incredible blend of blues, gospel, rock and funk put together by producer and bandmate Michael League.
