Der Pianist Lionel Haas, 1971 in Bonn geboren, spielt seit seinem 9. Lebensjahr Klavier. Nach einem vier Jahre langen Aufenthalt in Washington DC lebt er seit 1999 in Berlin und arbeitet neben seinen Trio-, Quintett- und Oktettformationen als einer der gefragtesten Sidemen der Berliner Jazzszene. Er ist in vielen Jazzstilen zuhause und beweist sich immer wieder als hochvirtuoser Solist mit ausgeprägtem Bluesfeeling.

Carly Quiroz hat in Argentinien Klavier studiert und ist vor wenigen Jahren nach Berlin gekommen wo er sich binnen kurzer Zeit einen Namen gemacht hat. Er hat nicht nur die lateinamerikanische Musik praktisch mit der Muttermilch aufgesogen, sondern ist gleichsam virtuos in Jazz, Pop, Soul und Rock.

Maximilian Bahr ist einer der angesagtesten Berliner Gitarristen. Als Sideman spielte er mit jedem, der Rang und Namen hat und ist in allen möglichen musikalischen Situationen zuhause. Der umtriebige Allrounder ist Leiter der BigBand der UDK Musication und hat auch außerhalb des Jazzkontextes mit Musikern wie Stefanie Heinzmann, Max Mutzke, Nik P. oder den Großstadtfreunden gearbeitet.

Daryl Taylor Familie besaß ein Nachtcafé außerhalb von Houston, Texas, das ihn mit Blues, Jazz und den R&B-Stilen der damaligen Zeit bekannt machte. Schon in frühen Jahren spielte er Schlagzeug und Banjo. Mit 15 begann er, Bassgitarre zu spielen, angesteckt von den Bass-Grooves von James Jamerson (Motown) und Bernard Odum (James Brown). Mit 20 spielte er Jazz-Standards auf dem Kontrabass. Nach der Lehre durch die Schule, privat und in Clubs, tourte Taylor ausgiebig mit Archie Bell & the Drells, (Philly International Records). Es folgten zahlreiche Jazz-Auftritte mit Arnett Cobb, Kenny Burrell, Sonny Stitt und vielen mehr. „Big Jay“ McNeely’s Sax-O-Mania II brachte Taylor 1989 auf eine Tournee durch Deutschland, wo er im Quasimodo-Berlin spielte und Zeuge des Mauerfalls wurde. Derzeit komponiert, führt und nimmt Taylor weiterhin Musik auf, während er an verschiedenen Tournee- und Aufnahmeprojekten beteiligt ist.

Als Sohn eines Musikers kam Steve Nanda schon als Teenager mit dem Jazz in Berührung. Im reifen Alter von 15 Jahren begann er auf Konzerten und Festivals zu spielen und setzte seine musikalische Karriere fort. Im Alter von 16 Jahren gewann er den Yamaha-Preis für den besten asiatischen Schlagzeuger, was seiner Band ebenfalls den Preis für die beste asiatische Band einbrachte. Zurzeit studiert er Jazz und Pop in Mainz, Deutschland und spielt aktiv in der Umgebung von Mainz und Frankfurt. Von diesem Youngster werden wir noch einiges zu hören bekommen!

The pianist Lionel Haas, born in Bonn in 1971, has been playing the piano since the age of 9. After a stay of 4 years in Washington DC he has made himself at home in Berlin since 1999. Besides his trio, quintet and octett formations, he is working as one of the most sought after sidemen of the Berlin jazz scene. He is effortlessly at home in different styles of jazz and proves himself an ever increasingly, highly virtuosic soloist with a passionately strong blues feeling again and again.

Carly Quiroz studied piano in Argentina and came to Berlin a few years ago where he made a name for himself within a short time. He has not only absorbed Latin American music practically with his mother's milk, but is equally virtuosic in jazz, pop, soul and rock.

Daryl Taylor family owned a night cafe outside of Houston, Texas, which introduced him to blues, jazz and the R&B styles of the time. From an early age, he played drums and banjo. At 15, he began playing bass guitar, infected by the bass grooves of James Jamerson (Motown) and Bernard Odum (James Brown). By 20, he was playing jazz standards on upright bass. After teaching through school, privately and in clubs, Taylor toured extensively with Archie Bell & the Drells, (Philly International Records). Numerous jazz performances followed with Arnett Cobb, Kenny Burrell, Sonny Stitt and many more. "Big Jay" McNeely's Sax-O-Mania II took Taylor on a tour of Germany in 1989, where he played at the Quasimodo-Berlin and witnessed the fall of the Berlin Wall. Currently, Taylor continues to compose, perform and record music while involved in various touring and recording projects.

Being the son of a musician, Steve Nanda started his introduction to jazz in his early teens. He started playing at gigs and festivals from the ripe age of 15 and continued his music career from there. At 16, he won Yamaha’s Best Asian Drummer award which also led his band to win The Best Asian Band award. He started working with Michael Veerapen, who gave him (and continues to) the opportunity to explore various musical genres and settings. He is currently pursuing his studies in Jazz and Pop in Mainz, Germany.
