Make America Love Again! Philip Lassiter ist nicht nur einer der heißesten Funk-Musiker der Welt, sondern würzt sein schweißtreibendes Programm immer auch humorvoll mit soziopolitischen Einschüben. Sträflich unbekannt ist er hierzulande, obwohl er schon Mitglied in Prince’s New Power Generation war und als Trompeter, Arrangeur und Produzent mit u. a. Stevie Wonder und Mariah Carey arbeitete. Lassiter der Mann, wenn es in Funk-Produktionen auf knackige Bläser-Sounds ankommt. Für seine Arbeit wurde Lassiter mit sage und schreibe elf Grammy Awards ausgezeichnet!

Er stammt aus Mobile, Alabama, und ist mit Gospel, Jazz und Soul aufgewachsen: Mit Miles Davis und Wynton Marsalis als Trompeter; mit Earth, Wind & Fire und James Brown als Inspirationsquelle für seinen Sound. Und final Prince als Lehrmeister - genau das bringt er auch mit seiner eigenen Band auf die Bühne, verbindet Old School-Funk mit heutigem R’n’B, streut Reggae, Elektronik, HipHop und Rap ein. Philipp Lassiter nimmt das Publikum mit auf einen schweißtreibenden Trip in die Funkosphere!

Make America Love Again! Philip Lassiter is not only one of the hottest funk musicians in the world but also spices up his electrifying performances with a touch of humor and sociopolitical commentary. Strangely underappreciated in Germany, he was a member of Prince’s New Power Generation and has worked as a trumpeter, arranger, and producer for the likes of Stevie Wonder and Mariah Carey. When it comes to punchy horn arrangements in funk productions, Lassiter is the go-to expert. His work has earned him a staggering eleven Grammy Awards!
