Ein weiteres Mal können wir die großartige Ingrid Arthur im ZigZag - Jazzclub willkommen heißen! Nach einigen Konzerten, die unumstritten zu den musikalischen Highlights des vergangenen und laufenden Jahres gehörten, tauchen wir dieses Mal mit dem Ex-Weather-Girl in die Welt des Gospel, den sie in einem besonderen Akustik-Programm auf besonders intime Art zelebrieren wird. Freuen sie sich auf einen emotionalen und intensiven Abend, der definitiv unvergessen bleiben wird!

Die in Gainesville, Georgia (USA) geborene Ingrid Arthur ist eine der mächtigsten Stimmen in der gegenwärtigen Musik. Sie ist nicht nur eine wunderbare Sängerin, sie ist wahrhaft eine der Göttinen des Souls.
Im Laufe ihrer Karriere arbeitete Ingrid mit vielen internationalen Stars wie Cissy Houston, Bette Midler, Tramaine Hawkins, Shirley Caesar und Dorothy Norwood zusammen. Sie trat auf den verschiedensten Bühnen in New York, Paris, London und Berlin auf und wurde wegen ihrer Professionalität, sympathischen Erscheinung und einzigartigen Stimme überall mit stehenden Ovationen gefeiert.
Sobald sich die Türen oder Vorhänge für Ingrid öffnen fesselt sie das Publikum mit ihrer einzigartigen Performance.
Auch abseits von ihrer Solo-Karriere oder ihren Erfolgen mit den Weather-Girls stellt sie immer wieder ihre musikalische Extraklasse in verschiedensten Konstellationen und Stilrichtungen unter Beweis; von den "Golden Gospel Singers” über Tourneen mit James Last bis hin zu ihrer derzeitigen Performance im Erfolgsmusical “Velvet” in Hamburg, wo sie als Discodiva der unbestrittene Star der Show ist und allabendlich Hunderte von Gästen verzaubert.
Seit 2002 lebt Ingrid Arthur nun in Berlin, ist aber auf den Bühnen der ganzen Welt zuhause.
Dort glänzt Ingrid am meisten und wer sie einmal live gesehen und gehört hat, wird dies immer und immer wieder erleben wollen.

Für das heutige Konzert hat Ingrid ihr Trio eingeladen, dass die perfekte Combo für diesen speziellen Abend ist. Mit Helmut Bruger sitzt einer Führungsfiguren der Berliner Soul-Jazz-Szene an den Tasten; ein immer wieder gerne gesehener Gast in unserem Club.

Mit Amy Zapf sorgt eine der besten E-Bassistinnen der Stadt für das harmonische Fundament. Die aus Bayern stammende Multiinstrumentalistin wurde auf Klavier, Orgel und Gitarre klassisch ausgebildet, hat ihre musikalische Heimstatt aber in der afroamerikanischen Musik gefunden und spielt heute im Wesentlichen Blues, Jazz, Gospel, Soul, Rock und R'n'B. Mit professioneller Leichtigkeit wechselt sie zwischen Klavier, Bass und Gitarre und ist auch gelegentlich an der Orgel, der Mandoline und dem Banjo anzutreffen. Seit 1998 ist sie eine feste Größe und spielte mit dem Who-Is-Who der Berliner Szene.

Am Schlagzeug begrüßen wir die großartige Tracey Duncan, die nicht nur als Drummerin, sondern auch als Sängerin auf eine lange und erfolgreiche Karriere in der Welt des Gospels zurückblicken kann.

The ex-Weather-Girl visits us with a special acoustic program in which she celebrates her musical roots in gospel. She is not only a wonderful singer, she is truly one of the goddesses of soul.Throughout her career, Ingrid has collaborated with many international stars such as Cissy Houston, Bette Midler, Tramaine Hawkins, Shirley Caesar and Dorothy Norwood. She has performed on stages in New York, Paris, London and Berlin and has received standing ovations everywhere for her professionalism, personable appearance and unique voice.Whenever the doors or curtains open for Ingrid, she captivates the audience with her unique performance. Even apart from her solo career or her successes with the Weather-Girls she proves again and again her musical extra class in the most different constellations and styles; from the "Golden Gospel Singers" over tours with James Last up to her current performance in the success musical "Velvet" in Hamburg, where she is the undisputed star of the show as a disco diva and enchants hundreds of guests every evening.Since 2002 Ingrid Arthur now lives in Berlin, but is at home on stages all over the world. That's where Ingrid shines the most and whoever has seen and heard her live once will want to experience this again and again.

For tonight's concert Ingrid has invited her trio, which is the perfect combo for this special evening. Helmut Bruger, one of the leading figures of the Berlin soul-jazz scene, sits at the keys; always a welcome guest in our club.

With Amy Zapf, one of the best electric bassists in town provides the harmonic foundation. The Bavarian-born multi-instrumentalist was classically trained on piano, organ and guitar, but has found her musical home in African-American music and today essentially plays blues, jazz, gospel, soul, rock and R'n'B. With professional ease she switches between piano, bass and guitar and can also occasionally be found on the organ, mandolin and banjo. She has been a fixture since 1998, playing with the who's who of the Berlin scene.

On drums we welcome the great Tracey Duncan, who not only as a drummer but also as a singer can look back on a long and successful career in the world of gospel.
