Das internationale “European All-Star-Quintett” vereinigt herausragende Solisten und Bandleader aus vier europäischen Ländern (Frankreich, Deutschland, Ungarn, Österreich), die mit viel Respekt, Hochachtung und Passion das musikalische Erbe der großen Meister des Jazz weiterführen. Gemeinsam präsentieren die fünf äußerst etablierten und erfahren Musiker klassischen, energetischen und swingenden Jazz auf allerhöchstem Niveau, ganz im Stile ihrer Vorbilder wie Cedar Walton, Steve Grossman oder Freddie Hubbard, einfach „Jazz at its Best“!

Stephane Belmondo gehört zu den renommiertesten Trompetern Europas. Seit 1986 wohnt er in Paris, bereits 1987 spielte er in der Big Band „Lumiéres“ von Laurent Cugny, auch auf zwei Alben dieser Band mit Gil Evans. Unter Laurent Cugny spielte Belmondo auch im Orchestre National de Jazz. Mehrere Jahre begleitete er Dee Dee Bridgewater und spielte weiters mit Andy Emler , Stéphane Grappelli, Michel Legrand u. v. a. 2004 erschien sein Album Wonderland, für das er einen „Les Victoires du Jazz“ erhielt. 1994 erhielt er den Prix Django Reinhardt, für das Album „Hymne au Soleil“ gewann er sowohl den Preis „Les Victoires du Jazz“ (2004) als auch 2003 den „Prix Boris Vian“. Für „Influence“ mit Yusef Lateef folgte 2006 ein weiterer „Les Victoires du Jazz“. 2011 spielte Belmondo bei mehreren „Trumpet Summits“ mit Roy Hargrove und Tom Harrell.

Gabor Bolla, geboren 1988 in Budapest, begann autodidaktisch Klarinette zu spielen und erhielt rasch die ersten nationalen ungarischen Auszeichnungen (National School´s Clarinet Competition), mit 12 Jahren wechselte er zum Tenorsaxophon. Im Frühling 2003 erreichte er als einziger Teenager das Semifinale der "World Saxophone Competition" beim Montreux Jazz Festival, in Budapest wurde er vom Vienna Art Orchestra als Gastsolist eingeladen. Im Dezember 2004 gewann er schließlich den Hans Koller Preis in der Kategorie "Talent des Jahres", im Jahr 2006 erhielt er wiederum beim Hans Koller Preis das New York Stipendium und lebte von Anfang Oktober bis Mitte Dezember 2007 in NYC. Bolla trat in der Folge mit Musikern wie David Murray, Benny Golson, Johnny Griffin, Roy Hargrove oder Kirk Lightsey auf, seit 2014 lebt er in Kopenhagen.

Martin Sasse aus Köln gehört seit den 1990er Jahren zu den europaweit führenden Pianisten und arbeitete als Leader und Sideman mit den wichtigsten Solisten aus den USA und Europa wie Al Foster, den New York Voices, Jimmy Cobb, Steve Grossman, Peter Bernstein, Vincent Herring, Roberta Gambarini, Till Brönner, Dick Oatts, Dennis Mackrel, Philip Catherine, Dusko Goykovich, Steve Grossman, Scott Hamilton, Tony Lakatos und vielen mehr. Außerdem ist er auch als Jazzpädagoge tätig und hat dutzende junge Pianisten musikalisch wie persönlich geprägt und ausgebildet.

Mini Schulz gehört aufgrund seiner subtilen und versierten Spielweise zu einem der meist gefragten Bassisten Europas. Er spielte unzählige Konzerte mit internationalen Jazzlegenden und ist zudem auch als Organisator und Lehrer in Stuttgart aktiv.

Der österreichische Schlagzeuger Bernd Reiter, der in Graz und New York studierte und nach mehreren Jahren in München nun in Paris lebt, konzertierte weltweit mit vielen Jazzgrößen wie Harold Mabern, Kirk Lightsey, Don Menza, Steve Grossman, Jim Rotondi und zahllosen anderen. Sein Spiel wurde mehrfach ausgezeichnet; vom Gipfel der europäischen Jazzperipherie ist er nicht mehr wegzudenken.

The international "European All-Star Quintet" brings together outstanding soloists and bandleaders from four European countries (France, Germany, Hungary, Austria) who carry on the musical legacy of the great masters of jazz with great respect, esteem and passion. In December 2004 he won the Hans Koller Prize in the "Talent of the Year" category, in 2006 he was again awarded the Hans Koller Prize New York Scholarship and lived in NYC from the beginning of October to mid-December 2007. Bolla went on to perform with musicians such as David Murray, Benny Golson, Johnny Griffin, Roy Hargrove and Kirk Lightsey, and has lived in Copenhagen since 2014.

He is also a jazz educator and has influenced and trained dozens of young pianists both musically and personally.

Mini Schulz is one of the most sought-after bassists in Europe due to his subtle and accomplished playing style. He has played countless concerts with international jazz legends and is also active as an organizer and teacher in Stuttgart.

The Austrian drummer Bernd Reiter, who studied in Graz and New York and now lives in Paris after several years in Munich, has performed worldwide with many jazz greats such as Harold Mabern, Kirk Lightsey, Don Menza, Steve Grossman, Jim Rotondi and countless others. His playing has won numerous awards and he has become an integral part of the European jazz scene.
