Die bosnisch-slowenische Sängerin und Komponistin Mirna Bogdanović ist der neue Stern am Himmel des weiblichen Vocaljazz. Sie tourt mit dem Berliner „Who is Who“ ihrer Generation und ihr aktuelles Album Awake wurde vor wenigen Wochen mit dem Deutschen Jazzpreis für das „Album des Jahres“ ausgezeichnet. Beeindruckende musikalische Perfektion und klangliche Vielfalt lassen in diesem Ensemble ihre modernen Kompositionen trotz aller harmonischer Komplexität federleicht und geschmeidig daherkommen.

Mirna Bogdanovic ist eine in Berlin lebende bosnisch-slowenische Jazzsängerin. Sie musiziert seit ihrer frühen Jugend, tauschte aber ihr klassisches Klavierstudium gegen den Jazzgesang ein und studierte zunächst in Klagenfurt, dann am Jazz-Institut Berlin. Sie war Teil des renommierten Bundesjazzorchesters und hat sich als starke Stimme in der deutschen Jazzlandschaft etabliert. 2015 wurde sie mit dem Downbeat Student Award ausgezeichnet, bevor sie für ihr Debutalbum Confrontation erstmals den deutschen Jazzpreis als bestes Debutalbum erhielt. 2024 folgte die erneute Auszeichnung, diesmal für das Album des Jahres.

Povel Widestrand ist ein in Berlin lebender schwedischer Pianist. Nach einer klassischen Grundausbildung studierte auch er am Jazz-Institut und schloss sein Studium mit Bestnote ab. Als Mitglied verschiedener Bands wurde er mit seinen gerade einmal 30 Jahren mit zahlreichen Preisen ausgezeichet, wie dem Nachwuchspreis der europöischen Jazzwoche Burghausen und dem Newcomer-Award von Sveriges Radio. Er hält weiterhin einen Lehrauftrag an der UdK Berlin.

Seit seinem Musikstudium an der UdK Berlin arbeitet Peter Meyer als Gitarrist, Komponist und Klangkünstler. Inzwischen ist er zu einer wichtigen Stimme der jungen Musikergeneration geworden. Mit seinem Ansatz, sämtliche Einflüsse aus Klangkunst, experimenteller Musik, Jazz-Improvisation, Avantgarde Pop, Elektronik und Neuer Musik zu verschmelzen, hat er eine eigene musikalische Ausdrucksform entwickelt, die sich jenseits aller Genres, Crossovern und Avantgardismen bewegt. National und internationale Beachtung erlangte Peter Meyer insbesondere mit seinen langjährigen Bands „Melt Trio“ (gemeinsam mit seinem Bruder Bernhard Meyer und Moritz Baumgärtner) und „Other Animal“ (ebenfalls mit Bernhard Meyer, sowie Jim Black und Wanja Slavin). 2015 und 2017 wurde er für den Echo Jazz nominiert.

Matthias Pichler studierte klassischen Kontrabass am Konservatorium Innsbruck und Jazzbass an der Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität Linz. 2004 erhielt er den Hans-Koller-Preis, der ein Reisestipendium für einen Aufenthalt in New York beinhaltete. 2006 gewann er den Hans-Koller-Preis in der Kategorie „Sideman des Jahres“ und wurde im selben Jahr auch für den HK „Newcomer“-Award nominiert. 2010 gewann er den ersten Preis beim Jazzwettbewerb des internationalen Kontrabasskongresses „Bass2010“ in Berlin. Matthias war 8 Jahre lang Mitglied des Wolfgang Muthspiel Trios und spielte mit vielen weiteren international renommierten Musikern.

Philip Adrian Dornbusch studierte am Jazzinstitut Berlin bei John Hollenbeck und Jim Black und arbeitete bereits mit Künstlern wie Uli Kempendorff, Ronny Graupe oder Jonas Westergaard. Mit der Band "Rosemarine" veröffentlichte er 2019 das gleichnamige Debütalbum auf dem renommierten Label Ropeadope (Christian Scott, Christian McBride).

The Bosnian-Slovenian singer and composer Mirna Bogdanović is the new rising star in the world of female vocal jazz. She tours with the "Who's Who" of her generation from Berlin, and her current album Awake was awarded the German Jazz Prize for "Album of the Year" just a few weeks ago. Impressive musical perfection and tonal diversity allow her modern compositions to sound effortlessly smooth and graceful, despite their harmonic complexity.

Mirna Bogdanović is a Bosnian-Slovenian jazz singer based in Berlin. She has been making music since her early youth but switched from classical piano studies to jazz vocals, studying first in Klagenfurt and later at the Jazz Institute Berlin. She was a part of the renowned Bundesjazzorchester and has since established herself as a prominent voice in the German jazz scene. In 2015, she received the Downbeat Student Award, and her debut album Confrontation earned her the German Jazz Prize for Best Debut Album. In 2024, she was honored again, this time for Album of the Year.

Since his music studies at the UdK Berlin, Peter Meyer has worked as a guitarist, composer and sound artist. In the meantime he has become an important voice of the young generation of musicians. With his approach of merging all influences from sound art, experimental music, jazz improvisation, avant-garde pop, electronics and new music, he has developed his own musical form of expression that moves beyond all genres, crossovers and avant-gardisms. Peter Meyer gained national and international attention especially with his longtime bands "Melt Trio" (together with his brother Bernhard Meyer and Moritz Baumgärtner) and "Other Animal" (also with Bernhard Meyer, as well as Jim Black and Wanja Slavin). In 2015 and 2017 he was nominated for the Echo Jazz.

Povel Widestrand is a Swedish pianist living in Berlin. After a basic classical education, he also studied at the Jazz Institute and graduated with top grades. As a member of various bands, he has been awarded numerous prizes at just 30 years of age, such as the young talent award of the European Jazz Week Burghausen and the Newcomer Award of Sveriges Radio.

Matthias Pichler studied classical double bass at the Innsbruck Conservatory and jazz bass at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz. In 2004 he received the Hans Koller Award, which included a scholarship to travel to New York. In 2006, he won the Hans Koller Award in the "Sideman of the Year" category and was also nominated for the HK "Newcomer" Award that same year. In 2010 he won the first prize at the jazz competition of the international double bass congress "Bass2010" in Berlin. Matthias was a member of the Wolfgang Muthspiel Trio for 8 years and played with many other internationally renowned musicians.

Philip Adrian Dornbusch studied at Jazzinstitut Berlin with John Hollenbeck and Jim Black. He collaborated with artists like Uli Kempendorff, Ronny Graupe or Jonas Westergaard.
