Wenn eine Konzertreihe über drei Jahre hinweg ausverkauft ist, dann ist das schon eine kleine Sensation. Die Rede ist vom legendären Arab Song, der früher in der Werkstatt der Kulturen stattfand und nun im Zigzag Jazzclub ein neues Zuhause mit optimaler Atmosphäre gefunden hat. Unter der Leitung des marokkanischen Oud-Spielers und Fusion-Musikers Alaa Zouiten können alle Musikbegeisterten eine explosiv-musikalische Hafla erleben. Hafla? Eine Hafla ist ein bisschen Party, ein bisschen transkulturelle Jamsession, ein bisschen Überraschung. Das wichtigste ist die Interaktion – zwischen Musikern auf der Bühne, zwischen Musikern und Publikum – und auch die spannende Interaktion zwischen arabischen, europäischen und Weltmusik-Sphären. Schwer zu beschreiben, muss man erleben. Eines steht fest, wir warnen Sie jetzt schon: Es macht süchtig.

Zeremonienmaster ist Alaa Zouiten, geboren in Casablanca. Dort begann seine musikalische Karriere zum Meister an der Oud, der arabischen Laute, und führte von der Ausbildung am Conservatoire National de Marrakech hin zum Sideman der Fusion- Band „Jbara“. Parallel setzte er seine musikalischen Studien fort und schloss 2013 ein Bachelor-Studium in Musikvermittlung und Philosophie an der Universität Erfurt ab. Daran schloss sich ein Masterstudium in Transcultural Music Studies an der Franz Liszt Hochschule für Musik in Weimar an. Er veröffentlichte mehrere Alben als Leader.
Weitere wichtige Stationen von Alaa Zouiten waren die musikalische Leitung und der Auftritt mit dem "Global Arabian Music Orchestra" in der Berliner Philharmonie, der Auftritt bei dem "Requiem für Syrien" in der Dresdner Philharmonie, Bienal del Flamenco in Sevilla (sept 2020), die Tourneen von "TALKING OUD 2020/2021" in Frankreich, Deutschland, Spanien und Marokko sowie die UK-Tour mit "Making Tracks 2022".

JISR جسر ist ein Kollektiv aus München, das von dem charismatischen Linguisten, Sänger, Perkussionisten und Gembri-Spieler Mohcine Ramdan geleitet wird. Er hat einige der besten Musiker Bayerns um sich versammelt, um seine Vision eines emotionalen globalen Sounds zu teilen, der tief in der Tradition seiner Musikerfamilie verwurzelt ist.

JISR's Āmālgamation präsentiert eine einzigartige Fusion von Gnawa-Polyrhythmik, Spiritual Jazz und einem Hauch von urbanem African Groove. Es setzt einen neuen Maßstab dafür, wie Jazz und seine afrikanischen Wurzeln auf einer Bühne vereint werden können. Eigenkompositionen und Werke aus verschiedenen musikalischen Epochen kombinieren Leichtigkeit und Hörgenuss mit bemerkenswerter rhythmischer Dynamik und Momenten mitreißender Trance. Mit dabei sind drei Gastmusiker aus dem Artist-in-Residence-Programm der Stadt München im Ebenböckhaus, der Pianist Amine Mesnaoui aus Berlin, der Vibraphonist Olmo Chitto aus Brescia der hungarische Trompeter Gergely Lukacs und der Bassist und Sänger Arnaud N’Gaza von der Elfenbeinküste. When a concert series is sold out for three years, it is already a small sensation. We are talking about the legendary Arab Song, which used to take place in the Werkstatt der Kulturen and has now found a new home with an optimal atmosphere in the Zigzag Jazzclub. Under the direction of Moroccan oud player and fusion musician Alaa Zouiten, all music enthusiasts can experience an explosive musical Hafla. Hafla? A Hafla is a little bit of party, a little bit of transcultural jam session, a little bit of surprise. The most important thing is the interaction - between musicians on stage, between musicians and audience - and also the exciting interaction between Arabic, European and world music spheres. Hard to describe, must be experienced. One thing is for sure, we warn you already: it is addictive.

Master of ceremonies is Alaa Zouiten, born in Casablanca. There his musical career began as a master on the oud, the Arabic lute, and led from training at the Conservatoire National de Marrakech to sideman of the fusion band "Jbara". JISR جسر is a Munich-based collective led by the charismatic linguist, singer, percussionist, and Gembri player Mohcine Ramdan. He has gathered some of Bavaria's finest musicians to share his vision of an emotionally charged global sound, deeply rooted in the traditions of his musical family.

JISR's Āmālgamation presents a unique fusion of Gnawa polyrhythm, spiritual jazz, and a touch of urban African groove, setting a new standard for how jazz and its African roots can be united on stage. Original compositions and works from various musical eras combine lightness and listening pleasure with remarkable rhythmic dynamism and moments of captivating trance. Joining them are three guest musicians from the Artist-in-Residence program of the City of Munich at the Ebenböckhaus: Berlin-based pianist Amine Mesnaoui, vibraphonist Olmo Chitto from Brescia, Hungarian trumpeter Gergely Lukacs, and bassist and singer Arnaud N’Gaza from the Ivory Coast.
