Die Grammy-Nominierte Saxophonistin Melissa Aldana wurde in Santiago de Chile geboren und wuchs in einer musikalischen Familie auf. Sowohl ihr Vater als auch ihr Großvater waren Saxophonisten, und sie begann im Alter von sechs Jahren unter der Anleitung ihres Vaters Marcos mit dem Instrument. Schon als Teenager trat sie in Jazzclubs in Santiago auf und wurde 2005 von dem Pianisten Danilo Pérez eingeladen, auf dem Panama Jazz Festival zu spielen.

Aldana zog in die USA, um das Berklee College of Music zu besuchen. Im Jahr nach ihrem Abschluss veröffentlichte sie 2010 ihr erstes Album Free Fall. Im folgenden Jahr gewann sie mit 24 Jahren als erste weibliche Instrumentalistin und erste südamerikanische Musikerin die Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition. 2022 veröffentlichte die in Brooklyn lebende Ausnahmemusikerin ihr Album “12 Stars”, ihr Debüt auf dem legendären Blue-Note-Label.

Der umtriebige Pablo Held ist schon seit seiner frühesten Jugend musikalisch tätig und studierte an der Musikhochschule Köln bei Hubert Nuss und John Taylor. Schon bald fanden sich er und seine musikalischen Partner Robert Landfermann und Jonas Burgwinkel zum Pablo Held Trio zusammen, das seitdem als eines der weltweit geachtetsten und musikalisch interessantesten Klaviertrios der Gegenwart zählt. Das Trio arbeitete unter anderem mit John Scofield, Chris Potter, Dave Liebman, Jorge Rossy und wurde mehrfach ausgezeichnet, beispielsweise mit dem WDR Jazzpreis und dem SWR Jazzpreis. Auch war er in Osnabrück und inzwischen in Mainz als Dozent tätig und ist als Veranstalter, Organisator und Ideengeber eine Schlüsselfigur in der Kölner Jazzszene.

Pablo Menares stammt ursprünglich aus Santiago, Chile. Seit er 2009 nach New York City gezogen ist, hat er sowohl im Jazz als auch in der lateinamerikanischen Musik mit Künstlern wie Camila Meza, Claudia Acuña, Sam Yahel, Brian Charette, George Burton, David Kikoski, Bob Moses und Greg Osby zusammengearbeitet.

Kush Abadey hat mit vielen namhaften Musikern zusammengearbeitet, darunter Ravi Coltrane, Chris Potter, Nicholas Payton, JD Allen, David Weiss, Andrew White, Gilad Hekselman, Azar Lawrence, Terrance Blanchard, Frank Lacy, Jeremy Pelt, Tomasz Stanko, Barry Harris, Gary Thomas und viele mehr. Bereits im Alter von 16 Jahren wurde er als jüngstes Mitglied in das Wallace Roney Quintet aufgenommen, mit dem er bei verschiedenen Konzerten, Jazzfestivals und Clubauftritten in vielen Teilen der Welt auftrat und Aufnahmen machte.

Grammy-nominated saxophonist Melissa Aldana was born in Santiago de Chile and grew up in a musical family. Both her father and grandfather were saxophonists and she began playing the instrument at the age of six under the tutelage of her father Marcos. She began performing in jazz clubs in Santiago as a teenager and was invited by pianist Danilo Pérez to play at the Panama Jazz Festival in 2005. Aldana moved to the United States to attend the Berklee College of Music. The year after she graduated she released her first album, Free Fall, in 2010. The following year, at the age of 24, she became the first female instrumentalist and first South American musician to win the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition. In 2022, the exceptional Brooklyn-based musician released her album "12 Stars," her debut on the legendary Blue Note label.

The go-getting Pablo Held has been musically active since his earliest youth, studying with Hubert Nuss and John Taylor at the Cologne Academy of Music. He and his musical partners Robert Landfermann and Jonas Burgwinkel soon came together to form the Pablo Held Trio, which has since been considered one of the most respected and musically interesting piano trios in the world today. The trio has worked with John Scofield, Chris Potter, Dave Liebman, Jorge Rossy, among others, and has received numerous awards, including the WDR Jazz Prize and the SWR Jazz Prize. He has also been a lecturer in Osnabrück and now in Mainz and is a key figure in the Cologne jazz scene as a promoter, organizer and idea generator.

Pablo Menares is originally from Santiago, Chile. Since moving to New York City in 2009, he has worked widely in both Jazz and Latin music with artists such as Camila Meza, Claudia Acuña, Sam Yahel, Brian Charette, George Burton, David Kikoski, Bob Moses and Greg Osby.

Kush Abadey has collaborated with many notable musicians including Ravi Coltrane, Chris Potter, Nicholas Payton, JD Allen, David Weiss, Andrew White, Gilad Hekselman, Azar Lawrence, Terrance Blanchard, Frank Lacy, Jeremy Pelt, Tomasz Stanko, Barry Harris, Gary Thomas and many more. At the age of 16 he became the youngest member of the Wallace Roney Quintet, with which he performed and recorded at various concerts, jazz festivals and club performances in many parts of the world.
