Der Zig Zag-Jazzclub ist stolz darauf unsere neue Konzertreihe in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Jazz-Institut Berlin (JIB) fortzuführen, die musikalischen Talenten der internationalen Szene eine Bühne bieten wird. Das Jazz-Institut Berlin gilt deutschlandweit wie auch international als eine der renommiertesten Ausbildungsstätten für Jazz und zieht viele Talente aus der ganzen Welt an. Lotta Leitz ist eine in Berlin lebende Jazzsängerin aus Schweden, die seit drei Jahren in Berlin lebt und studiert. Sie liebt es, mit verschiedenen Instrumentenkonstellationen zu spielen und intime und minimalistische Settings zu schaffen. Ihr ganzes Leben lang hat Lotta neben Jazz auch schwedische Volksmusik gehört, was man in ihrer Musik wiedererkennen kann.

Das Maj Kavšek Quintet ist eine Gruppe von fünf Musikern und Freunden um den Trompeter und Komponisten Maj Kavšek. Mit Originalkompositionen, die von Jazz- und Folk-Melodien sowie moderneren Harmonien und Texturen inspiriert sind, führt das Quintett Sie durch verschiedene Stimmungen und Genres des Jazz. Die Musik ist eine Hommage an Künstler, die den Sound des Quintetts maßgeblich geprägt haben.

Der Gitarrist Etienne Wittich aus Regensburg lebt seit 2020 in Berlin und studiert am renommierten Jazz Institut Berlin, wo er seine Band gründete und begann, die Hammond Orgel zu erkunden. Im November 2023 spielten sie ihre erste Tour in Deutschland. Die Kreativität dieser Formation bringt eine neue und aufregende Dimension zu vertrauten Jazzstandards, während sie rhythmisch komplexe Muster gestalten, hochenergetische Situationen herbeirufen und lebhafte Klanglandschaften malen.

The Jazz Institute Berlin is considered one of the most prestigious jazz training institutions in Germany as well as internationally, attracting many of the most gifted talents from around the world. Lotta Leitz is a Berlin based jazzsinger from Sweden, living and studying in Berlin since three years. She likes to play around with different constellations of the instruments and create intimate and minimalistic settings. All of her life, Lotta has, besides jazz, been listening to Swedish folkmusic which you can recognize in her music. She is playing concerts in Germany as well as Scandinavia.

The Maj Kavšek Quintet is a group of five musicians and friends led by the trumpeter and composer Maj Kavšek. With original compositions drawing inspiration from jazz and folk melodies, as well as more modern harmonies and textures, the quintet will take you through various moods and genres within the realm of jazz. The music pays tribute to artists who have significantly shaped the sound of the quintet.

Guitarist Etienne Wittich from Regensburg has been living in Berlin since 2020 and studies at the renowned Jazz Institut Berlin, where he formed his band and began to explore the Hammond Organ. In November of 2023, they played their first tour in Germany. The creativity of this group brings a new and exciting dimension to familiar jazz standards as they craft rhythmically intricate patterns, evoke highly energetic situations, and paint vivid soundscapes.
