Der Sound von Django Reinhardt und dem Quintette du Hot Club de France! Im Geiste der legendären Pariser Brutstätte des Gipsy-Jazz bringt der Hot Club of Berlin die originalen Arrangements und Kompositionen von Django Reinhardt und seinen Weggefährten wie auch die Spielfreude und den “Vibe”.

Der Hot Club of Berlin wird von Francisco Batista & Thomas Dekas geleitet, stilistisch erfahrene Gitarristen, die schon mit den großen Namen der Gypsy-Jazz-Welt wie Mozes Rosenberg, Paulus Schäfer, Gonzalo Bergara, Sebastien Giniaux auf der Bühne standen. Begleitet werden sie dieses Mal von Martin Buhl, ebenfalls einer von Djangos, Schnuckenacks und Grappellis Erben.
Diese Konzertreihe findet einmal im Monat im Zig Zag statt und der Hot Club lädt verschiedene Künstler ein um dem Gipsy-Jazz Tribut zu zollen. Wie immer kommt dabei mit jedem Gast ein neuer musikalischer Leckerbissen auf den Tisch.

Dieses Mal ist es ein ganzes musikalisches Menü! Zu Gast sind Hila Kulik & Eldar Tsalikov!

Hila Kulik begann im Alter von 8 Jahren mit dem Klavierstudium und machte 2010 ihren Abschluss an der Jerusalem Academy. Nachdem sie mit vielen der besten Musiker Israels gespielt hatte, kam Hila im Januar 2014 nach New York und erwarb im Januar 2016 einen Master-Abschluss an der Aaron Copland School of Music am Queens College. In den letzten zehn Jahren ist Hila mit führenden Jazzmusikern in Israel und im Ausland aufgetreten, darunterAchinoam Nini (Noa), Antonio Hart, Donald Harrison, Michael Varekamp, Bria Skonberg, Pauline Jean (NYC), Shirzette Tinnin und vielen mehr. Sie in zahllosen Venues und Festivals von Israel über Europa bis in die USA aufgetreten. Neben ihrer pianistischen Tätigkeit arbeitet sie als Beraterin und Koordinatorin für das Jazzprogramm an der Aaron Copland School of Music.

Eldar Tsalikov zog 2011 nach ersten Studien in seiner Heimtar nach Berlin, wo er sein Studium am "Jazz-Institut Berlin" begann und die Klarinette zum Saxophon als zweites Instrument dazu nahm. 2018 schloss Eldar das Institut erfolgreich mit dem Bachelor-Abschluss als Instrumentalist sowie dem Master-Abschluss als Arrangeur und Komponist ab. Als geschickter und vielseitiger Musiker hat Eldar sein Wissen über Jazzmusik (und nicht nur das) erweitert und mit zahlreichen europäischen und westlichen Interpreten der verschiedenen Arten dieses Genres zusammengearbeitet: von den tiefgründigen traditionellen Stilen, wie "Hot Jazz" (oder "Trad Jazz") und Swing bis hin zu modernen Formen des Jazz und der experimentellen Musik (Greg Cohen, Joey Baron, Laurie Anderson, Elias Stemeseder, Manlio Maresca, "The HAF", Anna Webbers "Percussive Mechanics"). Mit diesen und vielen anderen Künstlern reiste Eldar durch verschiedene Länder und trat in weltweit anerkannten Veranstaltungsorten und Konzertsälen auf.

In the spirit of the legendary Parisian hotbed of Gipsy Jazz, the Hot Club of Berlin brings the original arrangements and compositions of Django Reinhardt and his companions as well as the joy of playing and the "vibe".The Hot Club of Berlin is led by Francisco Batista & Thomas Dekas, stylistically experienced guitarists who have been on stage with the big names of the Gypsy Jazz world such as Mozes Rosenberg, Paulus Schäfer, Gonzalo Bergara, Sebastien Giniaux. This time they will be accompanied by Martin Buhl, also one of Django's, Schnuckenack's and Grappelli's heirs.This concert series takes place once a month at Zig Zag and the Hot Club invites different artists to pay tribute to Gipsy Jazz. As always, each guest brings a new musical delicacy to the table.

Hila Kulik began studying piano at the age of 8 and graduated from the Jerusalem Academy in 2010. After playing with many of Israel's finest musicians, Hila came to New York in January 2014 and earned a Master's degree from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College in January 2016. Over the past decade, Hila has performed with leading jazz musicians in Israel and abroad, includingAchinoam Nini (Noa), Antonio Hart, Donald Harrison, Michael Varekamp, Bria Skonberg, Pauline Jean (NYC), Shirzette Tinnin and many more. She has performed in countless venues and festivals from Israel to Europe to the USA. In addition to her pianistic activities, she works as a consultant and coordinator for the jazz program at the Aaron Copland School of Music.

Eldar Tsalikov moved to Berlin in 2011 after initial studies in his native Tar, where he began his studies at the "Jazz Institute Berlin" and added the clarinet to the saxophone as a second instrument. In 2018, Eldar successfully graduated from the institute with a Bachelor's degree as an instrumentalist and a Master's degree as an arranger and composer. A skilled and versatile musician, Eldar has expanded his knowledge of jazz music (and not only that), collaborating with numerous European and Western performers of the various types of this genre: from the profound traditional styles, such as "hot jazz" (or "trad jazz") and swing, to modern forms of jazz and experimental music (Greg Cohen, Joey Baron, Laurie Anderson, Elias Stemeseder, Manlio Maresca, "The HAF", Anna Webber's "Percussive Mechanics"). With these and many other artists, Eldar has traveled throughout various countries, performing in world-renowned venues and concert halls.
