Die Basis des TAB Collectives ist ein Trio. Drummer Emanuel Hauptmann, Wahlberliner mit internationaler Erfahrung, bildet schon länger eine Gruppe mit dem Pianisten Tino Derado und Vibraphonisten Roland Neffe um sich – auf die das Kürzel TAB (Trionauts Above And Beyond) passt. Alle drei sind vielseitig erfahren und vernetzt. Ihr Jazz-Gefühl verknüpfen sie liebend gern mit anderem Musikerinnen und Musikern. So entstand die Idee zum TAB Collective. "Back In Town" heißt das aktuelle Album-Debüt: eine Kollektion eigener Songs, die meisten getextet von Pat Appleton, Emanuel Hauptmann, Ken Norris und Tino Derado auf ihrem aktuellem Album zu hören sind. So erscheinen TAB Collective mit Pat Appleton und featuren/pärsentieren dabei, diesmal den Singer-Songwriter und Gitarristen Ron Spielmann mit TAB-eigenen Titeln so wie auch ein paar Titeln aus seiner Feder. Der urbane Groove-Jazz des Kollektivs klingt warm und beherzt, ist eingängig, unter anderem tanzbar und geht dabei auch in textliche Tiefen. Man spürt die persönlichen Erfahrungen, die hinter vielen Songs stecken, bis hin zu Gedanken über gesellschaftliches Unrecht und ökologisches Bewusstsein.
The basis of the TAB Collective started out as a trio. Drummer Emanuel Hauptmann, a Berliner by choice with international experience, has been forming a group with pianist Tino Derado and vibraphonist Roland Neffe for some time - to which the abbreviation TAB (Trionauts Above And Beyond) fits. All three have a wide range of experience and are well connected to great colleges and artists. They love to combine their jazz feeling with other musicians witch is how the idea for the TAB Collective came about. "Back In Town" is the title of their debut album: a collection of their own songs, most of which can be heard on their current album, written by Emanuel Hauptmann, Tino Derado, Pat Appleton and Ken Norris. So this time TAB Collective will appear with Pat Appleton and featured guest artist, singer-song writer and guitarist Ron Spielmann with songs from TAB as well as a few titles from his pen. The collective's urban groove jazz sounds warm and spirited, is catchy, danceable and also goes into lyrical depths. You can feel the personal experiences behind many of the songs, including thoughts about social injustice and ecological awareness.
