Das Quartett des israelischen Schlagzeugmeisters Shai Zelman präsentiert klassische Hard-Bop-Musik der späten 50er und 60er Jahre, Musik von Miles, Art Blakey, Hank Mobley und mehr! Dargeboten wird diese zeitlos groovende Musik von Spitzenmusikern aus Israel und Deutschland:

Shay Zelman ist einer der führenden Schlagzeuger Israels, geboren 1966 in Tel-Aviv, begann mit 6 Jahren Gitarre zu spielen, wechselte mit 17 Jahren zum Schlagzeug und spielt seitdem. Er arbeitete im Ausland, fünf Jahre in NYC und ein Jahr in Copehaggen, Dänemark. Shay hat mit vielen großen Jazzmusikern gespielt, darunter: Curtis Fuller, Joe Magnarelli, Peter Bernstein, Kirk Lightsey, Larry Willis und vielen anderen!

Ben Kraef ist ein deutsch-montenegrinischer Saxophonist und Komponist, der in Berlin lebt. Ben schloss sein Studium an der Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin ab und erwarb 2009 einen Master of Arts am City College of New York, wo er 2008 mit dem Billie-Stoller-Stipendium für einen herausragenden Wissenschaftler und Musiker ausgezeichnet wurde. Die Liste der international renommierten Musiker mit denen Ben auftrat und aufnahm, umfasst Koryphäen wie Lalo Schifrin, Fred Hersch, Pee Wee Ellis und Till Brönner sowie Popgruppen wie "Wir Sind Helden" und die Radio-Bigbands von HR und WDR.

Uri Gincel ist einer der führenden Jazzpianisten, die derzeit in Berlin leben. Uris Stil kann als stark in der Tradition verwurzelt beschrieben werden, aber mit Sensibilität und dem Verständnis, Jazz in die Moderne zu bringen. Sein Spiel ist dynamisch, lyrisch und vor allem voller Energie und Kraft! Der in Tel Aviv geborene Gincel kam 2009 nach Berlin und wurde schnell zu einem einflussreichen Teil der Jazzszene. Uri tourte mit vielen Projekten, darunter seinem "Uri Gincel Trio" und "Bonaparte" durch die Welt und studierte bei bedeutenden Musikern wie Arnie Lawrence und Walter Blending.

Haggai Cohen-Milo wurde in Israel geboren und ist bekannt für seine Arbeit als Kontrabassist, Komponist und Performance-Künstler. Seit mehr als zehn Jahren entwickelt er in Zusammenarbeit mit Tänzern und Choreographen eine eigene Methode, die als Bindeglied zwischen Klang, Bewegung und Bildender Kunst in der Performancekunst wirkt. Haggai Cohen-Milo tritt vor Publikum auf, arbeitet aber ebenso im Tonstudio und erscheint auf über 30 Alben für Label wie der Warner Music Group, Fresh Sound Records oder Tzadik. 2017 zog der Musiker nach Berlin, ein Jahr später erhielt er zusammen mit dem israelischen Omer Klein Trio den Echo in der Kategorie »Ensemble National«.

Shay Zelman is one of Israel's leading drummers, born in Tel-Aviv in 1966, Started playing guitar at age 6, moved to the drumset at age 17 and played ever since. Worked over seas, Five years in NYC, and a year in Copehaggen, Denmark. Shay has played with many great jazz musicians including: Curtis Fuller, Joe Magnarelli, Peter Bernstein, Kirk Lightsey, Larry Willis and many more!

Ben Kraef is a German-Montenegrin saxophonist and composer based in Berlin. Ben graduated from the University of Music “Hanns Eisler”, Berlin and obtained a Master of Arts from The City College of New York in 2009 where he was also awarded the Billie Stoller Scholarship to an outstanding scholar and musician in 2008. The list of internationally renowned musicians Ben has been performing and recording with includes luminaries Lalo Schifrin, Fred Hersch, Pee Wee Ellis and Till Brönner as well as pop groups such as „Wir Sind Helden” and the radio big bands of HR and WDR.holarship and found a longtime mentor in his idol Maestro Ron Carter. There he has collaborated with renowned artists such as Mike Stern, Joe Lovano, Oz Noy and Sean Wayland, for example.

Uri Gincel is one of the leading jazz pianists currently residing in Berlin. Uri´s style can be described as heavily rooted in tradition but with sensibility and understanding of bringing jazz into the modern age. His playing is dynamic, lyrical and above full of energy and power! Born in Tel-Aviv, Gincel came to Berlin in 2009 and quickly became an influential part of the Jazz scene, Uri toured the world with many projects, including "Uri Gincel Trio” and “Bonaparte” and studied under some major musicians as Arnie Lawrence and Walter Blending.

Haggai Cohen-Milo was born in Israel and is known for his work as a double bassist, composer and performance artist. For more than ten years he has been developing his own method in collaboration with dancers and choreographers, which acts as a link between sound, movement and visual art in performance art. Haggai Cohen-Milo performs in front of audiences, but also works in the recording studio and appears on over 30 albums for labels such as Warner Music Group, Fresh Sound Records or Tzadik. In 2017, the musician moved to Berlin, and a year later he received the Echo in the category "Ensemble National" together with the Israeli Omer Klein Trio.
