Roberto „Robertico“ Julio Carcassés Colón ist kubanischer Jazzpianist und Filmkomponist. Der Leiter der Gruppe Interactivo gilt als einer der derzeit prominentesten Musiker und Arrangeure Kubas. Wer die lebendige, groovende und virtuose afrokubanische Interpretation des Jazz schätzt und liebt, sollte dieses einmalige Konzert nicht verpassen!

Carcassés ist der Sohn des Afrojazz-Pioniers Bobby Carcassés. Er spielte bereits in jungen Jahren Klavier und studierte bis 1991 Perkussion an der Escuela Nacional de Arte, wobei er Klavierunterricht als Basis für das Kompositionsverständnis erhielt. Von 1992 bis 1995 ging er als Pianist mit Santiago Feliú in Lateinamerika und Europa auf Tournee. 1994 trat er das erste Mal auf dem von seinem Vater gegründeten Havanna Jazz Plaza Festival auf. Zwischen 1998 und 1999 tourte er in den Vereinigten Staaten mit dem afrokubanischen Jazzensemble Columna B, mit dem er das Album Twisted Noon aufnahm. Dann kehrte er nach Kuba zurück, wo er mit „El Indio“ und den Saxophonisten César López und Alfred Thompson mehrere Alben produzierte.

2001 versammelte Carcassés Talente unterschiedlicher Stilrichtungen wie Telmary Díaz, Francis del Río, Yusa und William Vivanco und spielte mit ihnen in seiner Gruppe Interactivo, mit der er später erfolgreich auf Tournee ging. Das erste Album der Band, Goza Pepillo, gewann bei den Cubadisco Awards 2006 die Auszeichnung als bestes Album. Mit der Band trat er auf mehreren internationalen Festivals auf und spielte frenetisch umjubelte Auftritte. Weiterhin arbeitete er mit Musikern wie Chucho Valdés, Changuito, Wynton Marsalis, George Benson oder Gonzalo Rubalcaba. Daneben schrieb Carcassés Filmmusik, etwa für den Spielfilm Violetas (México), aber auch Songs für die Filme Cuarteto de La Habana (Spanien) and New Rose Hotel (USA).

Carcassés erregte internationales Aufsehen, als er bei einem im Fernsehen übertragenen Live-Konzert Interactivos eine regierungskritische Zeile sang, was von den Kulturbehörden prompt mit einem umfassenden und unbefristeten Auftrittsverbot quittiert wurde, das jedoch nach nationalen wie auch internationalen Protesten von KünstlerInnen. egal ob regierungsfreundlich oder -kritisch, nach nur fünf Tagen annuliert wurde.

Regis Molina ist ein Musiker und Komponist aus Havanna, Kuba, der derzeit in Berlin lebt. Er ist ein Multiinstrumentalist, der Alt- und Baritonsaxophon, Flöte, Klarinette und afrokubanische Perkussion spielt. Molinas Leidenschaft und Hingabe zur Musik haben ihm mehrere Auszeichnungen eingebracht, wie beispielsweise 2007 den Latin Grammy und ihn weltweit mit renommierten Musikern und Bands wie Till Brönner, Kurt Rosenwinkel oder Jeff “Tain” Watts auftreten lassen.

Der kolumbianische Bassist Checho Gomez ist in Berlin aus der Latin- und Jazz Szene nicht wegzudenken. Man kennt ihn zum Beispiel als Musiker des Cuban Hartbeat Orchestra und der Band Conexion mit Mayelis Guyat. Ebenso spielte er schon vielbejubelte Auftritte mit dem vielfach ausgezeichneten Balkan Spirit Ensemble.

Javier Reyes bereichert die Berliner Jazzszene seit vielen Jahren mit den unwiderstehlichen Grooves seiner Heimat Kolumbien und steht als Schlagzeuger beispielhaft für die faszinierende Verbindung karibischer Rhythmen mit dem kreativen Jazz Spirit. Er spielte u.a. mit Samuel Torres, Peter Weniger, David Gilmore, Marcus Belgrave, Kelvin Sholar, Marie Séférian...

Carcassés is the son of Afrojazz pioneer Bobby Carcassés. He played the piano from an early age and studied percussion at the Escuela Nacional de Arte until 1991, taking piano lessons as a basis for understanding composition. From 1992 to 1995, he toured Latin America and Europe as a pianist with Santiago Feliú. In 1994, he performed for the first time at the Havana Jazz Plaza Festival, which was founded by his father. Between 1998 and 1999, he toured the United States with the Afro-Cuban jazz ensemble Columna B, with whom he recorded the album Twisted Noon. Carcassés caused an international sensation when he sang a line critical of the government at a televised Interactivos live concert, which was promptly met with a comprehensive and indefinite performance ban by the cultural authorities, but which was revoked after just five days following national and international protests by artists, whether pro- or anti-government.

Regis Molina is a musician and composer from Havana, Cuba, currently living in Berlin. He is a multi-instrumentalist who plays alto and baritone saxophone, flute, clarinet and Afro-Cuban percussion. Molina's passion and dedication to music has earned him several awards, such as the 2007 Latin Grammy, and has had him perform worldwide with renowned musicians and bands such as Till Brönner, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and Jeff "Tain" Watts.

The Colombian bassist Checho Gomez is an integral part of the Latin and jazz scene in Berlin. He is known, for example, as a musician of the Cuban Hartbeat Orchestra and the band Conexion with Mayelis Guyat. He has also played acclaimed gigs with the award-winning Balkan Spirit Ensemble.
