Omer Klein zählt zu den kreativsten und einflussreichsten zeitgenössischen Pianisten, der nach seinen umjubelten Auftritten mit seinem Trio unseren Club dieses Mal mit einer brandneuen Formation besuchen wird. Erleben Sie Omer Klein und sein neues “Standards Trio”, gemeinsam mit den beiden international renommierten Jazzmusikern Hans Glawischnig und Jorge Rossy.
Mit seiner Gabe, modernen Jazz mit Elementen aus jüdischer und arabischer Musik zu verquicken, zählt Omer Klein zu den wichtigsten neuen Musikern – nicht nur des Jazz. Seine Kunst ist keine der stilistischen Abgrenzung, sondern der Öffnung. Frei von Klischees, offen für alles. Von Klassik bis hin zu mediterraner Volksmusik, von Rock bis Reggae. Vom passgenauen Zusammenspiel der drei Musiker bis zum unbegleiteten Solo des Trio-Vorstehers. Der Weltenbummler lebte zeitweise in der Jazz-Hauptstadt New York, verbrachte aber auch einige Jahre in Deutschland. Egal wo, er hinterließ bleibende Eindrücke und hatte die Möglichkeit mit den visionärsten MusikerInnen zu arbeiten, wie Donny McCaslin, Jaleel Shaw, Clarence Penn und vielen mehr und gehört zur exklusiven Riege der Steinway Artists.
Hans Glawischnig ist Sohn des Pianisten und Arrangeurs Dieter Glawischnig, dem früheren Leiter der NDR Bigband. Seine Mutter ist gebürtige US-Amerikanerin. Die interkontinentale Verbindung des Elternhauses sollte auch seine Karriere prägen. Nach Studien in Boston und New York eröffnete ihm ein erstes längeres Engagement in der Band des Conga-Spielers Ray Barretto musikalisch neue Welten. In kurzer Zeit avancierte er zu einem der gefragtesten Bassisten der US-Latin-Jazz-Szene – als einer der ganz wenigen Europäer in dieser Ausdrucksform. Auch war er an Chick Coreas multikulturellem Orchester-Projekt „The Continents“ beteiligt.
Jorge Rossy ist international als einer der einflussreichsten Schlagzeuger seiner Generation bekannt und gefragt. Seine Arbeit als Sideman umfasst über 180 Aufnahmen mit renommierten Jazzmusikern wie Brad Mehldau, Ethan Iverson, Kevin Hays, Albert Sanz, Mark Turner, Chris Cheek, Seamus Blake, Joshua Redman, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Jakob Bro, Enrico Pieranunzi und Steve Swallow, neben vielen anderen. Jorge hat auch mit einigen Jazzgrößen wie Charlie Haden, Wayne Shorter, Lee Konitz, Carla Bley und Joe Lovano getourt.

With his gift for blending modern jazz with elements of Jewish and Arabic music, Omer Klein is one of the most important new musicians - not only in jazz. His art is not one of stylistic demarcation, but of opening. Free of clichés, open to everything. From classical to Mediterranean folk music, from rock to reggae. From the perfectly fitting interplay of the three musicians to the unaccompanied solo of the trio leader. The globetrotter lived for a time in the jazz capital of New York, but also spent several years in Germany. No matter where, he left lasting impressions and had the opportunity to work with the most visionary musicians, such as Donny McCaslin, Jaleel Shaw, Clarence Penn and many more.
Hans Glawischnig is the son of pianist and arranger Dieter Glawischnig, former leader of the NDR Big Band. His mother was born in the United States. The intercontinental connection of his parents' home was also to shape his career. After studying in Boston and New York, his first extended engagement in the band of conga player Ray Barretto opened up new musical worlds for him. In a short time he advanced to become one of the most sought-after bass players on the US Latin jazz scene - as one of the very few Europeans in this form of expression. He was also involved in Chick Corea's multicultural orchestra project "The Continents".
Jorge Rossy is internationally recognised as one of the most influential drummers of his generation. His sideman work includes over 180 recordings with renowned jazz musicians such as Brad Mehldau, Ethan Iverson, Kevin Hays, Albert Sanz, Mark Turner, Chris Cheek, Seamus Blake, Joshua Redman, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Jakob Bro, Enrico Pieranunzi and Steve Swallow, among many others. Jorge has also toured with some jazz greats including Charlie Haden, Wayne Shorter, Lee Konitz, Carla Bley, and Joe Lovano.
