Das Quartet “Miles & More” widmet sich den Kompositionen und dem Oeuvre des wohl beliebtesten und bedeutendsten Jazztrompeters: Miles Davis! Es besteht aus einigen der talentiertesten und gefragtesten Musiker der heutigen Jazzszene. Das All-Star-Ensemble unter der Leitung des berüchtigten Berliner Jazz-Giganten Uri Gincel konzentriert sich auf die Ära der 50er, 60er und 70er Jahre, als die Musik durch ihren hochenergetischen Puls und ihre flüssige Melodieführung geprägt war. Mit einer einzigartigen Rhythmusgruppe, mit Fluss und Energie auf höchstem Niveau und einer wirklich einzigartigen und starken Bläsersektion wird dies ein besonderer Abend voller Soulfulness, geradliniger Power und ekstatischen Interplay im Geiste des wohl einflussreichsten Jazzmusikers aller Zeiten. Uri Gincel ist einer der gefragtesten und angesehensten Jazzpianisten in Berlin. Gincels Stil ist stark in der Tradition verwurzelt, aber er versteht es, den Jazz in die Moderne zu bringen. Sein Spiel ist dynamisch, lyrisch und vor allem voller Energie und Kraft! Der in Tel Aviv geborene Gincel kam 2009 nach Berlin und wurde schnell zu einem einflussreichen Teil der Jazzszene. Uri tourte mit vielen Projekten um die Welt, darunter das "Uri Gincel Trio" und "Bonaparte", und studierte bei bedeutenden Musikern wie Arnie Lawrence und Walter Blending Jr. Seit Jahren ist er aus der Berliner Szene nicht mehr wegzudenken und hat als Host der dienstäglichen Session im ZigZag eine wahre Institution im kulturellen Leben an der Spree geschaffen.

Dass Sebastian Studnitzky als Trompeter und als Pianist auf internationalem Top-Niveau musiziert, ist an sich schon eine Sensation. Wie wenige andere  Instrumentalisten seiner Generation ist er in den Clubs und auf den Festivals weltweit präsent (mit Nils Landgren’s Funk unit, Jazzanova, Mezzoforte oder Wolfgang Haffner). Aktuell ist er auf den Aufnahmen von Nils Landgrens Funk Unit, Jazzanova, Wolfgang Haffner, Nightmares On Wax, Moritz von Oswald, Mezzoforte, Dominic Miller u.v.m. zu hören. 2012 gründete er mit Contemplate sein eigenes Label/Netzwerk. 2014 initiierte er als musikalischer Leiter das XJAZZ Festival – das aus dem Stand größte Jazzfestival Berlins – und stellte damit mal eben die Jazzszene in Deutschland auf den Kopf. Seit September 2014 lehrt Sebastian Studnitzky als Professor an der Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden. 2015 bekam Sebastian Studnitzky den ECHO Jazz und in 2020 den OPUS Klassik für das Duo Projekt "A Bernstein Story" mit Sebastian Manz.

Paul Kleber wurde in Berlin geboren und begann schon als Kind Cello und Schlagzeug zu spielen, bevor er sich für sein Hauptinstrument, den Kontrabass entschied. Er studierte klassischen Kontrabass an der Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" Berlin und Jazz, ebenfalls an der Universität der Künste Berlin. Er spielte und nahm mit Jazzanova, Sebastian Studnitzky, der britischen Band Fink, Micatone, Nylon, JazzIndeed und Lisa Bassenge auf.

Tobias Backhaus ist zweifellos einer der gefragtesten deutschen Jazz-Schlagzeuger. Nach seinem Studium machte er sich in der deutschen Hauptstadt schnell einen Namen als vielseitiger und einfühlsamer musikalischer Begleiter und ist seit mehr als zehn Jahren ein wichtiger Bestandteil der zeitgenössischen europäischen Jazzszene. Tobias arbeitet regelmäßig mit international renommierten Jazzkünstlern wie Till Brönner, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Tony Lakatos, Torsten de Winkel, Carlos Bica, Gwilym Simcock, Jiggs Whigham, Rick Margitza, Peter Weniger, Frank Chastenier und Ack van Rooyen sowie mit großen Ensembles wie den Dresdner Symphonikern, der NDR Big Band, dem Berlin Jazz Orchestra, dem European Movement Jazz Orchestra und vielen anderen zusammen.

It consists of some of the most talented and sought-after musicians on the jazz scene today. Led by infamous Berlin jazz giant Uri Gincel, this all-star ensemble focuses on the era of the '50s, '60s and '70s, when music was characterized by its high-energy pulse and fluid melodic line. With a unique rhythm section, flow and energy of the highest order, and a truly unique and powerful horn section, this will be a special evening of soulfulness, straightforward power and ecstatic interplay in the spirit of arguably the most influential jazz musician of all time. Uri Gincel is one of the most sought-after and respected jazz pianists in Berlin. Gincel's style is strongly rooted in tradition, but he knows how to bring jazz into the modern age. His playing is dynamic, lyrical and above all full of energy and power! Born in Tel Aviv, Gincel came to Berlin in 2009 and quickly became an influential part of the jazz scene. Uri toured the world with many projects, including the "Uri Gincel Trio" and "Bonaparte", and studied with eminent musicians such as Arnie Lawrence and Walter Blending Jr. For years it has been impossible to imagine the Berlin scene without him, and as host of the Tuesday session at ZigZag he has created a true institution in the cultural life of the Spree.

The fact that Sebastian Studnitzky makes music as a trumpeter and as a pianist at the top international level is in itself a sensation. Like few other instrumentalists of his generation he is present in clubs and festivals worldwide (with Nils Landgren's Funk unit, Jazzanova, Mezzoforte or Wolfgang Haffner). Currently he can be heard on the recordings of Nils Landgren's Funk Unit, Jazzanova, Wolfgang Haffner, Nightmares On Wax, Moritz von Oswald, Mezzoforte, Dominic Miller and many more. In 2012 he founded his own label/network, Contemplate. In 2014, as musical director, he initiated the XJAZZ Festival - the largest jazz festival in Berlin from a standing start - and turned the jazz scene in Germany upside down. Since September 2014, Sebastian Studnitzky has been teaching as a professor at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden. In 2015 Sebastian Studnitzky received the ECHO Jazz and in 2020 the OPUS Klassik for the duo project "A Bernstein Story" with Sebastian Manz.

Tobias Backhaus is without doubt one of the most in-demand German jazz drummers. He studied under the guidance of master drummers John Riley, Joey Baron, Keith Copeland and John Hollenbeck and holds a Bachelor’s degree in jazz performance from the University of the Arts in Berlin. In the German capital, he quickly made a name for himself as a versatile and exciting musical accompanist and has been a vital part of the contemporary European jazz scene for well over the past decade. Tobias regularly works with internationally renowned jazz artists such as Till Brönner, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Tony Lakatos, Torsten de Winkel, Carlos Bica, Gwilym Simcock, Jiggs Whigham, Rick Margitza, Peter Weniger, Frank Chastenier and Ack van Rooyen as well as large ensembles such as the Dresden Symphonic Orchestra, NDR Big Band, Berlin Jazz Orchestra, European Movement Jazz Orchestra and many others.
