Marriage Material ist eine sensationelle Band aus Berlin. Köpfe und Begründer des Quartetts sind Drummer Felix Lehrmann und Bassist Thomas Stieger. Sie verbindet eine langjährige und innige musikalische Zusammenarbeit, die sie durch unterschiedlichste Genres der Musikwelt geführt hat. Der finnische Gitarrist Arto Mäkelä und der Österreicher Raphael Meinhart an Vibraphon, Marimba und Synths geben diesem Quartett seine einzigartige Färbung. Heute präsentieren sie ihr zweites Album, dass der mehrfache Grammy-Gewinner Joachim Becker produziert hat. Felix Lehrmann ist ein in Berlin lebender Schlagzeuger, der derzeit mit Till Brönner zusammenarbeitet. Seit 2008 ist er der Schlagzeuger von Deutschlands erfolgreichster Popkünstlerin Sarah Connor. Felix spielte auf über 250 Platten und arbeitete live und im Studio mit: The Flower Kings, Dendemann, Jan Böhmermann, Martin Miller, Teddy Teclebrhan und vielen mehr.

Seit vielen Jahren gehört Thomas Stieger zu den meist beschäftigten Bassisten, Sidemen und Sessionmusikern Deutschlands. Lebhaft in Berlin, arbeitet er für national und international renommierte Acts und Künstlern der europäischen Szene unterschiedlichster Genres, die größtenteils der bunten Welt der Pop-, Rock-, Soul- und Jazzmusik zuzuordnen sind. Hier eine kleine Auswahl der vielen Künstler, mit denen er performen, touren und recorden durfte: Wolfgang Haffner, Randy Brecker, Bill Evans, Nils Landgren, Simon Oslender, Christopher Dell, Gregory Porter, Michael Wollny, Sarah Connor, Martin Grubinger, Berliner Philharmoniker, HR Bigband, NDR Radiophilharmonie, und vielen mehr.

Raphael Meinhart ist ein österreichischer Vibraphonist und Komponist. Er studierte klassisches Schlagwerk und Jazzvibraphon in Berlin. Er spielte bereits während des Studiums europaweit auf Festivals und in renommierten Clubs und ist inzwischen ein festes Mitglied der europäischen Szene. Für sein Spiel wurde er unter anderem mit dem New-York-Stipendium des Hans-Koller-Preises ausgezeichnet.

Geboren und aufgewachsen in der finnischen Stadt Tampere, entdeckte Arto Mäkelä schon früh sein Talent und seine Leidenschaft für die Gitarre und trat bereits mit 16 Jahren professionell auf. Er fühlt sich in Jazz, Rock und Pop gleichermaßen wohl und brilliert durch seine Wandlungsfähigkeit. Seit 2009 ist er in Deutschland ansässig und hatte das Vergnügen, mit einer beeindruckenden Vielfalt an renommierten Künstlern zu arbeiten, besonders hervorzuheben ist seine Mitwirkung in der europäischen Band von Ed Motta und in der von Sarah Connor.

Marriage Material is a sensational band from Berlin. The brains and founders of the quartet are drummer Felix Lehrmann and bassist Thomas Stieger. They have a long and close musical collaboration that has taken them through the most diverse genres of the music world. The Finnish guitarist Arto Mäkelä and the Austrian Raphael Meinhart on vibraphone, marimba and synths give this quartet its unique coloration. Today they present their second album, produced by multiple Grammy winner Joachim Becker. The result is brilliant compositions - highly energetic, profound and independent statements to jazz. Felix Lehrmann is a Berlin-based drummer who is currently working with Till Brönner. Since 2008 he has been the drummer for Germany's most successful pop artist Sarah Connor. For many years, Thomas Stieger has been one of Germany's busiest bassists, sidemen and session musicians. Living in Berlin, he works for nationally and internationally renowned acts and artists of the European scene of various genres, most of which belong to the colorful world of pop, rock, soul and jazz music. Raphael Meinhart is an Austrian vibraphonist and composer. He studied classical percussion and jazz vibraphone in Berlin. He already played at festivals and renowned clubs throughout Europe during his studies and is now a permanent member of the European scene. He has been awarded the New York Scholarship of the Hans Koller Prize for his playing.

Born and raised in the Finnish city of Tampere, Arto Mäkelä discovered his talent and passion for the guitar at an early age and was already performing professionally at the age of 16. He feels equally at home in jazz, rock and pop and shines with his versatility. Based in Germany since 2009, he has had the pleasure of working with an impressive array of renowned artists, most notably in Ed Motta's European band and Sarah Connor.
