Die ZEIT sieht in der Schweizerin eine der wichtigen Protagonistinnen „der Wiederbelebung des Jazz- Gesangs jenseits der abgenutzten Standards und Singer-/Songwriterinnen- Klischees.

Seit 2002 lebt sie in Berlin und arbeitet dort in vielen progressiven Projekten der Europäischen Szene mit. ›Speak Low‹ das Debütalbum des gleichnamigen Trios bedeutete für Lucia Cadotsch den internationalen Durchbruch. Die Reaktionen der Presse waren euphorisch: maximale Punktzahl im englischen Guardian, maximale Punktzahl im renommierten Downbeat Magazine, 2017 der ECHO Jazz als Sängerin des Jahres und 2018 die Einladung zum Winter Jazz Festival nach New York City 2018.

Nun hat sie sich mit drei englischen Musikern zusammengetan, um etwas Neues zu starten. Sie war allen drei persönlich schon vor Jahren begegnet und immer entstand der Wunsch, gemeinsam Musik zu machen. Gemeinsam erkunden sie ihre Liebe zu unentdeckten Songs im intimen Kammermusikalischen Kontext. Es ist das Kontinuum und die Vertiefung ihrer bisherigen gemeinsamen Arbeit in Speak Low (mit Kit als Gast). Dieses einzigartige Trio präsentiert bekannte und noch zu entdeckende Lieder, als auch Eigenkompositionen.

Kit Downes ist ein BBC Jazz Award-Gewinner und für den Mercury Music Award nominierter Solokünstler, der für ECM Records aufnimmt. Er ist mit seinen eigenen Bands ("ENEMY", "Troyka", "Elt" und "Vyamanikal") sowie mit Künstlern wie Squarepusher, Thomas Strønen und Django Bates auf Welttournee gewesen und hat Klavier, Kirchenorgel und Harmonium gespielt. Er hat Auftragswerke für das Cheltenham Music Festival, das London Contemporary Orchestra, das Stavanger Konserthus, das Rewire Festival, die Kölner Philharmonie, BBC Radio 3 und den Wellcome Trust geschrieben und mit Filmemachern, Videospielentwicklern und klassischen Komponisten zusammengearbeitet.

Es folgt auf seine frühere Veröffentlichung "The Gate" (2015 Whirlwind Recordings). Wenn Phil nicht gerade seine eigenen Bands leitet, kann man ihn mit Künstlern wie Oliver Steidle, Tom Challenger, Philipp Gropper, Frank Möbus, Kalle Kalima, Jim Black, Wanja Slavin, Johannes Enders und Bastian Stein auf Tournee sehen und hören. Phil ist durch ganz Europa, Nordamerika, Afrika und Asien getourt. James Maddren ist ein in London lebender britischer Schlagzeuger und Komponist. Derzeit ist er einer der gefragtesten Schlagzeuger Londons. Er hört und spielt gerne alle Arten von Musik und hat die Bühne mit vielen Künstlern und Ensembles geteilt, darunter das Gwilym Simcock and Kit Downes Trio, Julian Arguelles Tetra, Marc Copland/Stan Sulzman Quartet, Ivo Neame Group, Phil Donkin, Alex Garnett's Bunch of Five, Michael Janisch, Will Vinson, Martin Speake Quartet, Phronesis, Jonathan Bratoeff Quartet und viele andere.

She has been living in Berlin since 2002, where she collaborates in many progressive projects of the European scene. Speak Low', the debut album of the trio of the same name, was the international breakthrough for Lucia Cadotsch. Now she has teamed up with three English musicians to start something new. She had personally met all three of them years ago and always the desire to make music together arose. Together they explore their love of undiscovered songs in an intimate chamber music context. It is the continuum and deepening of their previous work together in Speak Low (with Kit as guest). This unique trio presents familiar and yet-to-be-discovered songs, as well as original compositions.

Kit Downes is a BBC Jazz Award winner and Mercury Music Award nominated solo artist who records for ECM Records. He has toured the world with his own bands ("ENEMY," "Troyka," "Elt," and "Vyamanikal") and with artists such as Squarepusher, Thomas Strønen, and Django Bates, and has played piano, church organ, and harmonium. He has written commissioned works for the Cheltenham Music Festival, London Contemporary Orchestra, Stavanger Konserthus, Rewire Festival, Cologne Philharmonic, BBC Radio 3 and the Wellcome Trust, and has collaborated with filmmakers, video game developers and classical composers.
