Mit Jorge Luis Pacheco freuen wir uns einen der führenden Jazzer und Pianisten einer neuen Generation kubanischer Musiker begrüßen zu dürfen:

Der aus Havanna stammende, feurige junge Pianist mit den „fliegenden Händen“ ist auch Sänger und Komponist. Seine Musik ist eine Mischung aus kubanischem Jazz, kubanischer und afrokubanischer Musik, amerikanischem Jazz und klassischer Musik mit einer Prise zeitgenössischem Pop und Soul. Er ist bisher der ganzen Welt aufgetreten, darunter in bekannten Jazzclubs wie dem Dizzy's Jazz at Lincoln Center, in Theatern und auf Festivals wie dem Blue Note Jazz Festival in New York, dem Sziget Festival in Budapest, Ungarn, oder dem Red Sea Jazz Festival in Israel. Außerdem trat er mit seinem Quartett und als Solist mehrmals im Kennedy Center in Washington auf sowie im legendären Apollo Theater, wo Herbie Hancock für sein Lebenswerk ausgezeichnet wurde. Er hat mit Wynton Marsalis und dem LLCO, Arturo O'Farrill, dem legendären Lenny White sowie Dave Weckl und Richie Goods, dem Saxophonisten Bill Evans und einigen der wichtigsten kubanischen Künstler wie Alexander Abreu, Issac Delgado, Amadito Valdes und Tete Caturla (vom Buena Vista Social Club), Leo Brower, Pablo Milanes, Ruy Lopez Nussa, Javier Salva und anderen zusammengearbeitet. Des weiteren ist er der Gewinner des Jazzklavier-Solowettbewerbs des Jazzfestivals Montreux.

Begleitet wird Pachecho von den erfahrenen Latin-Autoritäten Thomas Hempel und Helmut Reuter; beide sind seit Jahrzehnten auf dutzenden CD-Produktionen zu hören und als Pädagogen tätig.

Hailing from Havana, he is a fiery young pianist with “flying hands.He is also a singer and a composer. His music is a confluence of Cuban jazz, Cuban and Afro Cuban music, American jazz, and classical music with a measure of contemporary pop and soul.He has performed all over the world including prominent jazz clubs such as Dizzy’s Jazz at Lincoln Center, theaters, and festivals such as the Blue Note Jazz Festival in New York ,as well as the Sziget Festival in the City of Budapest, Hungary or the Red Sea Jazz Festival in Israel.
He also performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington with his quartet and solo piano several times as well as the legendary Apollo Theater in where a lifetime achievement award was presented to Herbie Hancock. Recently, Jorge performed at Berklee School of Music in Boston, where he also gave a Master class.
He has collaborated with the likes of Wynton Marsalis and the LLCO, Arturo O’Farrill, the legendary Lenny White as well as Dave Weckl and Richie Goods, The saxophonist Bill Evans and some of the most importante Cuban artist such as Alexander Abreu, Issac Delgado, Amadito Valdes and Tete Caturla (From Buena Vista Social Club) Leo Brower, Pablo Milanes, Ruy Lopez Nussa, Javier Salva among others. He also has a Master in Composition from the Instituto Superior de Arte de LA Habana (ISA). Furthermore, he is the winner of the Jazz Piano Solo Competition of the Montreux Jazz Festival.
Pachecho is accompanied by the experienced Latin authorities Thomas Hempel and Helmut Reuter; both have been heard on dozens of CD productions for decades and are active as educators.
