Ursprünglich 1959 in Chicago aufgenommen, zeigt dieses Album zwei der größten Jazzmusiker ihrer Zeit—John Coltrane und Cannonball Adderley—noch bevor sie den legendären Status erreichten, den sie heute innehaben.

Der Abend wird die volle Brillanz dieser historischen Aufnahme mit einer großartigen lokalen Band präsentieren, die die lebendige Hard-Bop-Energie und die gefühlvollen Melodien, die dieses Album zu einem Klassiker gemacht haben, neu interpretiert. Declan Forde ist ein schottischer Pianist, der seit 2014 in Berlin lebt und für seine innovative Mischung aus Jazztradition und avantgardistischer Erkundung bekannt ist. Seine Aufführungen, die durch ihre dynamische Bandbreite von komplex bis spärlich und melodisch bis disruptiv gekennzeichnet sind, fordern konventionelle Vorstellungen von Jazz mit einer einzigartigen Mischung aus Humor und Freude heraus. Forde hat sich als Solokünstler einen Namen gemacht und war 2019 in Rashid Johnsons Installation „Antoine’s Organ“ im Gropius Bau vertreten. Von 2015 bis Januar 2024 kuratierte er gemeinsam mit dem Bassisten James Banner die einflussreiche Konzertreihe „Practically Married“ im Donau115, die mit der Veröffentlichung ihres gleichnamigen Albums im Dezember 2023 ihren Abschluss fand. Neben dem Jazz hat Forde umfangreich mit der schottischen Sängerin und Songwriterin Rachel Sermanni an Alben wie „The Bothy Sessions“ (2011) und „Dreamer Awake“ (2023) gearbeitet und mit einer Vielzahl internationaler und lokaler Künstler, darunter Han Bennink und Tony Malaby, kooperiert.

Jordan Dinsdale ist ein britischer Jazzmusiker, der in Berlin lebt und für seine Zusammenarbeit mit prominenten Künstlern wie Greg Cohen, Doug Weiss, Mike Moreno, Bill McHenry und Judy Niemack bekannt ist. Er ist Mitglied des Doug Weiss Quartetts, das seine erste Aufnahme veröffentlichen wird.
Jordan hat kürzlich seine erste LP als Bandleader veröffentlicht, mit dem Titel „Quasimodo“, featuring Béla Meinberg am Piano und Doug Weiss am Bass. Neben seiner Tätigkeit im Jazz ist Jordan auch weltweit als Mitglied der renommierten zeitgenössischen Tanzgruppe Damaged Goods/Meg Stuart unterwegs, was seine Vielseitigkeit und seine breite künstlerische Bandbreite unter Beweis stellt.

Er war Student am Berklee College of Music, der State University of New York, dem Conservatorium van Amsterdam und dem Conservatoire National Superior de Paris. Gianni ist der Gründer von BCN Jazz Collective, einem Label und einer Plattform für junge Komponisten, um ihre Werke zu veröffentlichen und zu fördern. Er ist gefragter Sideman und Leader; seine Aufnahmen sind von der internationalen Kritik in den höchsten Tönen gelobt worden.

Eldar Tsalikov zog 2011 nach ersten Studien in seiner Heimtar nach Berlin, wo er sein Studium am "Jazz-Institut Berlin" begann und die Klarinette zum Saxophon als zweites Instrument dazu nahm. 2018 schloss Eldar das Institut erfolgreich mit dem Bachelor-Abschluss als Instrumentalist sowie dem Master-Abschluss als Arrangeur und Komponist ab. Als geschickter und vielseitiger Musiker hat Eldar sein Wissen über Jazzmusik (und nicht nur das) erweitert und mit zahlreichen europäischen und westlichen Interpreten der verschiedenen Arten dieses Genres zusammengearbeitet: von den tiefgründigen traditionellen Stilen, wie "Hot Jazz" (oder "Trad Jazz") und Swing bis hin zu modernen Formen des Jazz und der experimentellen Musik (Greg Cohen, Joey Baron, Laurie Anderson, Elias Stemeseder, Manlio Maresca, "The HAF", Anna Webbers "Percussive Mechanics"). Mit diesen und vielen anderen Künstlern reiste Eldar durch verschiedene Länder und trat in weltweit anerkannten Veranstaltungsorten und Konzertsälen auf.

Eldar Tsalikov moved to Berlin in 2011 after initial studies in his native Tar, where he began his studies at the "Jazz Institute Berlin" and added the clarinet to the saxophone as a second instrument. In 2018, Eldar successfully graduated from the institute with a Bachelor's degree as an instrumentalist and a Master's degree as an arranger and composer. A skilled and versatile musician, Eldar has expanded his knowledge of jazz music (and not only that), collaborating with numerous European and Western performers of the various types of this genre: from the profound traditional styles, such as "hot jazz" (or "trad jazz") and swing, to modern forms of jazz and experimental music (Greg Cohen, Joey Baron, Laurie Anderson, Elias Stemeseder, Manlio Maresca, "The HAF", Anna Webber's "Percussive Mechanics"). With these and many other artists, Eldar has traveled throughout various countries, performing in world-renowned venues and concert halls.
