Kommen wir nun zu den Künstlern, die der Form halber vorgestellt werden müssen:

Joey Calderazzo ist einer der besten und geschätztesten Pianisten der Gegenwart. Ihm ist in seiner Karriere das seltene Kunststück gelungen eine einzigartige Entwicklung zu durchlaufen: Vom Wunderkind zum ausgebuchten Sessionmusiker zur absoluten Elite der Jazzwelt. Mit 8 Jahren begann Calderazzo mit dem klassischen Klavierspiel, im Alter von 14 Jahren nahm er die ersten Jazzklavierstunden. Nicht lang darauf spielte er auf ersten Jamsessions und machte sich rasant einen Namen. Ende der 80er entdeckte Saxophonsuperstar Michael Brecker den jungen Pianisten und holte ihn in seine Band. Brecker produzierte auch Calderazzos erstes Album, welches 1990 auf Blue Note Records erschien. Von da an nahm eine bemerkenswerte Karriere ihren Lauf, in der der virtuose Pianist sich in die höchsten Sphären der Jazzwelt spielte. Er arbeitete mit Pat Metheny, Kurt Elling, John Pattitucci, Jack DeJohnette, Peter Erskine, Jerry Bergonzi, Adam Nussbaum zusammen; diese Liste ließe sich noch lange fortführen. Seit 1998 ist er außerdem festes Mitglied im Quartett des Saxophonvisionärs Branford Marsalis, mit der er mehrfach für den Grammy nominiert wurde.

John Patitucci gehört jetzt schon zu den größten Bassisten der Jazzgeschichte. Der in New York geborene E- wie Kontrabassist studierte auf der anderen Seite des amerikanischen Kontinents und machte schon sehr früh auf sich aufmerksam. Seit den 1980ern ist er eine feste Größe in der Szene und hat seitdem mit den größten Namen der Jazzwelt gespielt: Er war jahrelang Mitglied in Chick Coreas Bands, spielte mit Herbie Hancock, Michael Brecker, Roy Haynes, Branford Marsalis, Chris Potter, Brad Mehldau, Horacio Hernandez, Gary Burton, Vinnie Colaiuta, Adam Rogers und unzähligen mehr. In den letzten Jahren eine seiner wichtigsten Stationen das Quartett um den kürzlich verstorbenen Wayne Shorter, zusammen mit Danilo Perez und Brian Blade, das inzwischen schon zu einer der wichtigsten Bands der Jazzgeschichte zählt. Er wurde unzählige Male von verschiedensten Institutionen und Magazinen als bester Bassist ausgezeichnet wurde dreimal mit dem Grammy prämiert und über 15mal nominiert.

Dave Weckl ist ein US-amerikanischer Schlagzeuger im Jazz- und Fusionbereich, der zu den einflussreichsten und besten seiner Zunft gehört. Er studierte am berühmt-berüchtigten Berklee College of Music und war bereits mit Anfang 20 ein äußerst gefragter Studio- und Tourmusiker und spielte mit Acts wie Simon & Garfunkel, George Benson und Diana Ross. Angekommen in der New Yorker Jazz- und Fusionwelt der 1980er Jahre begann er sich als feste Größe zu etablieren, spielte mit Michael Brecker, Mike Stern, Steve Khan und wurde schließlich Teil von Chick Coreas Elektric Band. 1989 war er Teil des legendären Buddy Rich Memorial Concerts, wo er sich mit Vinnie Colaiuta und Steve Gadd im musikalischen Triell maß. In den 1990er Jahren schließlich begann Weckl auch Solo zu arbeiten hat seither Tausende Fans und junge Drummer begeistert und inspiriert. Weckl ist Grammy-Preisträger und wurde bereits 2000 in die Modern Drummer Hall of Fame aufgenommen.

Joey Calderazzo is one of the best and most appreciated pianists of today. He has achieved the rare feat of going through a unique development in his career: From child prodigy to booked-out session musician to the absolute elite of the jazz world. Calderazzo began playing classical piano at the age of 8 and took his first jazz piano lessons at the age of 14. Not long after, he played at his first jam sessions and rapidly made a name for himself. At the end of the 80s, saxophone superstar Michael Brecker discovered the young pianist and brought him into his band. Brecker also produced Calderazzo's first album, which was released on Blue Note Records in 1990. From then on, a remarkable career took its course, in which the virtuoso pianist played his way into the highest spheres of the jazz world. He has worked with Pat Metheny, Kurt Elling, John Pattitucci, Jack DeJohnette, Peter Erskine, Jerry Bergonzi, Adam Nussbaum; the list goes on and on. Since 1998 he has also been a permanent member of the quartet of saxophone visionary Branford Marsalis, with whom he has received several Grammy nominations.

John Patitucci is already one of the greatest bassists in jazz history. Born in New York, the electric and double bass player studied on the other side of the American continent and attracted attention very early on. He has been a fixture on the scene since the 1980s and has since played with the biggest names in the jazz world: He was a member of Chick Corea's bands for years, played with Herbie Hancock, Michael Brecker, Roy Haynes, Branford Marsalis, Chris Potter, Brad Mehldau, Horacio Hernandez, Gary Burton, Vinnie Colaiuta, Adam Rogers and countless more. In recent years, one of his most important stations has been the quartet around the recently deceased Wayne Shorter, together with Danilo Perez and Brian Blade, which is now one of the most important bands in jazz history. He has been honored countless times by various institutions and magazines as best bassist, has won three Grammy awards and has been nominated more than 15 times.

Dave Weckl is an American jazz and fusion drummer who is one of the most influential and best in his field. He studied at the infamous Berklee College of Music and was already a highly sought-after studio and tour musician in his early 20s, playing with acts such as Simon & Garfunkel, George Benson and Diana Ross. Arriving in the New York jazz and fusion world of the 1980s, he began to establish himself as a permanent fixture, playing with Michael Brecker, Mike Stern, Steve Khan and eventually becoming part of Chick Corea's Elektric Band. In 1989 he was part of the legendary Buddy Rich Memorial Concert, where he competed with Vinnie Colaiuta and Steve Gadd in the musical triell. In the 1990s, Weckl finally began to work solo and has since inspired thousands of fans and young drummers. Weckl is a Grammy Award winner and was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 2000.
