Mit diesem Konzert freuen wir uns einen der umtriebigsten Musiker einer neuen Generation von Jazzmusikern begrüßen zu dürfen, der uns mit einem seiner großartigen und in Deutschland rar gesäten Solo-Konzerte beehren wird.
Bill Laurance, ausdrucksstarker Komponist und versierter Bandleader, vierfacher Grammy-Preisträger, Pianist und Gründungsmitglied von Snarky Puppy, einer der wohl einflussreichsten Jazz-Formationen der letzten Jahrzehnte befindet sich weiterhin auf der Suche nach neuen, aufregenden Klangwelten und musikalischen Ausdrucksweisen.
Von der atemberaubenden symphonischen Zusammenarbeit mit dem Untold Orchestra auf seiner neuesten EP "Zeal" (2021), dem intensiven Akustik-Trio-Album "Live at Ronnie Scott's" (2020), über die kraftvolle Zusammenarbeit mit der WDR Big Band auf dem Album "Live at the Philharmonie Cologne" (2019) bis hin zur nachdenklichen Klavier-Elektronik-Verschmelzung auf seiner neuesten LP “Cables” (2019) - es gibt nur wenige kreative Wege, die der unermüdliche Musiker noch nicht beschritten hat.
Am 28.10.2022 erscheint sein achtes Soloalbum „Affinity“, welches sich ausschließlich auf das Klavier konzentriert und sich damit erneut von seinen vorherigen Aufnahmen absetzt.

Bill Laurance, expressive composer and accomplished bandleader, four-time Grammy Award-winning pianist and founding member of Snarky Puppy, arguably one of the most influential jazz formations of recent decades continues to be on a quest for new, exciting soundscapes and musical expressions.
From the breathtaking symphonic collaboration with the Untold Orchestra on his latest EP "Zeal" (2021), the intense acoustic trio album "Live at Ronnie Scott's" (2020), to the powerful collaboration with the WDR Big Band on the album "Live at the Philharmonie Cologne" (2019), to the thoughtful piano-electronics fusion on his latest LP "Cables" (2019), there are few creative avenues the indefatigable musician has yet to explore.
On Oct. 28, 2022, his eighth solo album, "Affinity," will be released, focusing exclusively on piano and once again setting himself apart from his previous recordings.
