Avishai Cohen gehört zu den einflussreichsten Bassisten, Komponisten und den größten Stars der Jazzwelt! Wir haben außerdem die Ehre Ihnen diesen Ausnahmekünstler an zwei Abenden im Georg-Neumann-Saal in einem angemessenen Rahmen präsentieren zu können. Sein Spiel ist virtuos, seine Bühnen-Performance emotionsgeladen. Und er hat immer ein gutes Gespür für den musikalischen Nachwuchs: Avishai Cohen ist Kontrabassist, Sänger, Komponist und ein Arrangeur des Modern Jazz. Von Kindheit auf gefesselt von der Musik spielt Avishai Klavier, wechselt aber inspiriert durch Jaco Pastorius zum Bass. Mit 22 Jahren zieht er nach New York, wo er direkt immensen Eindruck in der Szene hinterließ. Er wurde Teil der Bands von Chick Corea und Danilo Perez, spielte mit Kurt Rosenwinkel, Edward Simon und Seamus Blake, machte sich aber auch schnell einen Namen als Bandleader verschiedener Formationen, stets jedoch mit seiner unverwechselbar melodisch-virtuosen Attitüde. Seine Alben im Trio mit Mark Guiliana und Shai Maestro gelten als moderne Klassiker. Seine Arbeiten umfassen den Jazzkontext, aber auch Streichquartette und Kooperationen mit renommierten Sinfonie-Orchestern wie den Brüsseler Philharmonikern und dem BBC Concert Orchestra. Seine Arbeit wurde vielfach ausgezeichnet und Avishai gilt als einer der kreativsten und wegweisendsten Musiker seiner Zeit.

Roni Kaspi ist eine israelische Schlagzeugerin. Die im Jahr 2000 geborene Kaspi ist von Kindheit an von der Musik begeistert, beginnt mit 7 Jahren mit dem Schlagzeugspiel und studiert später am renommierten Berklee College of Music. Schon während des Studiums wird sie Teil von Avishai Cohens neuer Triobesetzung. In ihrer eigenen Band kombiniert das aufstrebende Schlagzeugtalent Hip-Hop, Fusion und Popmusik und singt in englischer Sprache.

Captivated by music from an early age, Avishai played the piano, but was inspired by Jaco Pastorius to switch to the bass. Roni Kaspi is an Israeli drummer, born in 2000. She has been passionate about music since childhood and started playing drums at the age of 7. Later, she studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. During her studies, she became part of Avishai Cohen’s new trio lineup. In her own band, the rising drumming talent combines hip-hop, fusion, and pop music, and sings in English.
