“Anat does what all authentic musicians do: She tells stories from her own experiences that are so deeply felt that they are very likely to connect listeners to their own dreams, desires and longings.”

Anat Cohen has been named Clarinetist of the Year nine times by the Jazz Journalists Association, in addition to receiving Grammy nominations, the DownBeat Clarinetist of the Year title, and the Grand Prix of the North Sea Jazz Festival. Paquito D’Rivera himself called her "one of the best to ever play the instrument." In her Quartetinho band, she is joined by Israeli bassist Tal Mashiach, Brazilian pianist/accordionist Vitor Gonçalves, and American vibraphonist James Shipp, all members of her acclaimed Tentet. The four musicians share a deep love for the Brazilian Songbook, weaving musical stories by Cohen, Mashiach, and Shipp, alongside pieces by great masters like Antonio Carlos Jobim, Egberto Gismonti, and others. The result is boundlessly melodic and lyrical, with a rich palette of tonal colors and subtle orchestral details.

“Anat does what all authentic musicians do: She tells stories from her own experiences that are so deeply felt that they are very likely to connect listeners to their own dreams, desires and longings.”
