Alessandro Lanzoni - piano (ITA)
Igor Spallati - contrabass (ITA)
Ugo Alunni - drums (ITA)
Sundays at the Zig Zag is the closest you will get to the atmosphere, energy and ambience of the New York Jazz revolution taking place in the 30´s- 50´s. The evening features mainly young, talented jazz musicians who have contributed to the jazz boom in Berlin over the past decade. It’s intended for those of you who can appreciate the rare and fine quality of purely acoustic and unamplified music. You'll feel like you're sharing the stage with musicians who include some of the city's best and finest award-winning young talents!
Pianist Alessandro Lanzoni started displaying his talents at a very young age on the most important Italian stages and has performed with musicians such as Kurt Rosenwinkel , Lee Konitz , Aldo Romano , Roberto Gatto , Ralph Alessi , Jeff Ballard , Larry Granadier , Ambrose Akinmusire , Aaron Goldberg , Miguel Zenon , Michael Blake and many others . Born in Florence Italy, he will be joined by two Berlin based compatriots Igor Spallati on acoustic bass and Ugo Alunni on drums to perform not only his original compositions but also songs from the jazz tradition.
ENTRANCE FEES
One of the reasons that makes this evening so unique is that it is the first and only jazz club in the world that manages to finance world class events through a crowd funding concept. How do we do it? Its quite simple… during the break of the concert we make an announcement regarding the collection for the evening. We inform our customers that a fee of around 15€ per person will allow us to fairly compensate the musicians. Some people give more and some give less… and that´s ok… we ´ve already successfully promoted hundreds of concerts like this!!!
