Die Berliner Saxophonistin, Sängerin, Komponistin und Arrangeurin Fabia Mantwill hat den Mut Gegensätze als solche zu belassen und die seltene Gabe, aus diesen scharfen Kontrasten eine Einheit zu formulieren. Ihre Musik atmet und berührt, sie ist unmittelbar, lyrisch und ausdrucksstark, zart und kraftvoll, weich und energiegeladen.
Inspiriert von ihren Reisen durch West- und Ostafrika, Asien, Südamerika und Europa malt sie mit ihren Kompositionen ein einzigartiges Klangbilderbuch und schöpft aus dem musikalischen Reichtum ihres internationalen Quintetts.

Fabia Mantwill hat im Mai 2021 ihr fulminantes Debut Album EM.PERIENCE veröffentlicht, auf dem ihr 24-köpfiges Orchestra sowie weltbekannte Gastsolisten wie Kurt Rosenwinkel, Nils Landgren und Ben Wendel zu hören sind. Dafür wurde sie mit dem Deutschen Jazzpreis 2021 in der Kategorie „Arrangement des Jahres“ ausgezeichnet.
Fabia Mantwill arbeitete bereits mit dem Metropole Orkest (NL), Vince Mendoza und Becca Stevens zusammen, wurde als Gastkomponistin und -dirigentin zum XJAZZ Festival nach Minsk eingeladen, führte eines ihrer Orchesterwerke in der Elbphilharmonie auf und spielte auf mehreren internationalen Bühnen und Festivals – darunter im John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.,im Apollo Theatre in New York, bei Jazz Baltica und beim Elbjazz Festival.

Berlin-based composer, arranger and saxophonist Fabia Mantwill draw inspiration from both cultural and intimate space. Her soulful compositions and playing are characterized by strong melody, lyricism and rhythmical elements. Traveling through Africa, South America, Asia and Europe in the past ten years, Fabia’s work as bandleader and composer bridges several distinct musical worlds from jazz to folk to classical.

On her 'breathtaking, epic debut album' (New York Music Daily) entitled EM.PERIENCE, the 28-year old bandleader experimented with a variety of voices, sounds, harmonies and instruments which made the record emerge in its brilliant holistic nature. It features world renowned guest soloists Kurt Rosenwinkel, Ben Wendel and Nils Landgren. Fabia Mantwill was awarded the German Jazz Prize 2021 and has worked with Vince Mendoza, Kurt Elling, Becca Stevens, the Metropole Orkest, the National Scottish Jazz Orchestra and the Equilibrium Orchestra in Minsk, to name a few.
