“…with his strongly propulsive beat, crispness of articulation and emotional directness, Reggie Moore does indeed communicate to a wide range of listeners…” - Nat Hentoff
Mainstram recording artist Reggie Moore comes from distinctive jazz lineage; born in 1938, he grew up in NYC as the son of Billy Moore, musician and arranger for the Jimmy Lunceford Orchestra. Throughout his musical career which spans over 55 years, Reggie arranged for the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band and has worked with such renowned jazz greats as Johnny Hartman, Betty Carter, Anita O’Day, Harry “Sweets” Edison, Gary Bartz, Woody Shaw, Benny Golson, Scott Hamilton, Houston Person and Kenny Burrell - to name but a few. Together with vocalist Joe Lee Wilson, Reggie performed in the Middle East as Jazz Ambassador for the U.S. State Department. Leading his own trio, Reggie has toured Japan, the United States and Europe, and recorded two albums for Mainstream. The cover text for his debut album WISHBONE was written by Nat Hentoff. Since 1985 Reggie Moore has been living in Berlin, Germany, with his wife, jazz singer Cornelia Moore. His unique art, which he himself calls “Communicable Music” and his genuine, dedicated teaching at the Jazz Institute Berlin/Hanns Eisler Hochschule für Musik, have been impacting the German jazz scene for the last 27 years. Reggie’s future plans include composing film music and publishing his educational concepts.
“…As a colorist and moodmaker, Mr. Moore draws predominantly from two sources to create his particular mix of hues: classical and jazz blues. Disparate as these may seem, he fuses them with the authority of a concert pianist and all the urgency of an inveterate blues man...” Procter Lipcott,The NY Times
Christoph Titz
Ja, was eigentlich?
Matt Adomeit
Imagination and honesty are qualities that distinguish Hartford, Connecticut native Matthew Adomeit. A broad musical spectrum plus utter control of the bass violin are tools Matt uses for driving and commanding The RHQ. His double degree from Oberlin College and the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio along with his rapidly expanding work experiences have Adomeit – born 1990 - carving a special place for himself in today’s ever changing music scene as he darts from Berlin, his current residence, to places all over the globe.
Roberto Manzins musical life began in Milan where he moved with his family when he was five, he studied music privately and then at the school Civica Scuola di Musica Villa Simonetta. During the 1990s he was part of the Tony Scott Jazz Quintet. Manzin became a successful session player, contributing to eight albums in 1992 alone, with leading Italian artists as well as featuring in several TV commercials. Manzin performed regularly in Milan jazz clubs with Italian jazz musicians such as Renato Sellani, Bruno De Filippi, Gianni Cazzola, Tullio De Piscopo, Giorgio Buratti and Marco Ratti. In the same period he toured with the Italian singer Enzo Jannacci and the American artist Gene Anthony Ray (who played the role of Leroy Johnson in Fame). Manzin also worked extensively in TV where he played with, among others, James Brown, Zucchero Fornaciari and Manu Katché. In the late 1990s Manzin migrated to London, where he continued his musical activity. Over the years Manzin has performed and/or recorded with Martha Reeves and the Vandelas, Donna Summer, Dave Weckl, Jim Mullen, Harvie S, Pino Palladino, Trilok Gurtu, Kai Eckhardt, Dennis Rollins, Roberto Pla, Roland Perrin, Richard Bailey, Ernesto Simpson and many others. Manzin continues to be a popular session player (he recorded on eight albums in 2010, ranging in style from Pop to Latin, Rock/Blues, Ska and Jazz) and appears in music festivals throughout Europe.

One of the reasons that makes the zig zag jazz club so unique is that it is the first and only jazz club in the world that manages to finance world class events through a crowd funding concept. How do we do it? Its quite simple… during the break of the concert we make an announcement regarding the collection for the evening. For most concerts (excluding the jam session) we inform our customers that a fee of around 15€ per person will allow us to fairly compensate the musicians. Some people give more and some give less… and that´s ok… we ´ve already successfully promoted hundreds of concerts like this!!!
