The world’s smallest Big Band played their first show in February 2015 and has been touring ever since. So far they have been to The United States, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Rumania, Hungary, Slovakia, France and Austria.
Just one year after the release of their Debut LP „Small“, Marina & The Kats are back in the studio. And this time, the outcome is a vinyl double-album called „Wild“, which features no less than 16 new songs.
Marina & The Kats take you on a dreamy journey of the 30ies and 40ies...the time Lindy Hops and the Collegiate Shags, and you still land softly in the here and now. be surprised how good they are!!

Willkommen im Zirkus des freudvollen Wahnsinns! Die elegante Dompteurin Marina hat wieder die Peitsche in der Hand und diktiert mit ihren Kats das Geschehen.
Was sich mit den beiden hervorragenden Alben „Small“ und „Wild“ bereits angekündigt hat, setzt sich auf „Swingsalabim“ problemlos fort. Das Trio vereint mühelos leichtfüßig-eingängige Swing-Rhythmen mit knackigem Songwriting und einer markanten Dosis Spaß.
Marina & The Kats haben ihre Identität längst gefunden. Sie strampeln sich auf ihrem Drittwerk frei von klanglichen Klischees und Vorurteilen. Die „kleinste Bigband der Welt“ kreiert Musik im Stile der 30er- und 40er-Jahre, ohne sich allzu stark auf die Ästhetik dieser Ära zu beschränken. Sie wirft musikalisch als auch thematisch gekonnt ein Auge auf das aktuelle Zeitgeschehen und vermischt unterschiedlichste Epochen.

ENTRANCE FEES
One of the reasons that makes the zig zag jazz club so unique is that it is the first and only jazz club in the world that manages to finance world class events through a crowd funding concept. How do we do it? Its quite simple… during the break of the concert we make an announcement regarding the collection for the evening. For most concerts (excluding the jam session) we inform our customers that a fee of around 15€ per person will allow us to fairly compensate the musicians. Some people give more and some give less… and that´s ok… we ´ve already successfully promoted hundreds of concerts like this!!!
EINTRITT
Einer der Gründe, die den Zig Zag Jazzclub so einzigartig machen, ist, dass er der erste und einzige Jazzclub der Welt ist, dem es gelingt nur durch freiwilligem Eintritt/Crowdfunding Events von Weltklasse zu finanzieren. Und wie machen wir das? Ganz einfach. Während der Konzertpause geben wir bekannt, dass wir Geld einsammeln werden. Bei den meisten Konzerten (außer Jam Sessions) informieren wir unsere Kunden, dass ein Beitrag von ungefähr 15 Euro es uns erlaubt die Musiker gerecht zu bezahlen. Manche geben dabei mehr und andere weniger... und das ist auch in Ordnung. Wir haben auf diese Weise schon Hunderte Konzerte organisiert.
