SPECIAL GUEST VOCALIST: RACHELLE JEANTY

Blessed with a magical voice known to open the Heart, Rachelle Jeanty's authentic presence and magnetic energy leave audiences standing in joy and ovation for more, everywhere she goes. Originally from Haiti, born in New York, raised in Montreal, and now living in Berlin, Rachelle Jeanty has been singing professionally for the past 20 years. She has toured the world as a backup vocalist for Celine Dion and sang on the biggest stages, and has, since then, recorded four albums of her own and given solo performances at ''Les Francofolies de Montréal'', at the United Nations and as a guest vocalist of the internationally reknown Vienna Boys Choir.

Adam Lenox
Adam was born in 1968 in New York. At the time, his birth place; Greenwich Village, was pivotal in redefining Jazz and Rock ’n’ Roll. As son to the world renowned com po-ser/singer/songwriter, Bob Lenox, Adam’s babysitter roster read like the who’s who of Jazz greats. He grew up peering up at the likes of Stevie Wonder, Keith Jarrett and Kris Kristofferson and went on to while away his teenage years living in a 5 star hotel, in the renowned Jazz community; Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania. Here, he played bass in his father’s trio. When not performing with dad, Adam worked alongside countless musical legends: Dave Liebman (Miles Davis), Gerardo Velez (Jimi Hendrix), Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith), César Diaz (Bob Dylan) and Steve Missal (Billy Idol). Late night gigging and performing with his father to 30,000 strong crowds at the BCVC folk festival, naturally led onto Adam playing the Manhattan club circuit. Adam has a humble take on things; “Growing up in New York, at that time, was a “learning by osmosis” kind of experience. It’s inevitable that anyone in that position would have got caught up in the music.”

JC DooK
He is a 10 year veteran of the tough NYC blues scene.
He played with New Orleans legend, the late Earl King, the Holmes Brothers, and Ben E. King. He openned for Johnny Copeland, Walter “Wolfman” Washington and Little Feet. His versatility enabled him to work with Harry Belafonte, Manu Dibango and Cassandra Wilson. He worked with the Harlem Gospel Singers and Queen Esther Marrow for 5 years as guitarist, arranger, and musical supervisor. He last toured as guitarist with bass and vocal virtuoso Richard Bona.

Felix Lehrmann
Born 1984 in a small town called Halberstadt, Felix´ family moved to Berlin, when he was about three years old. At the same time he started to play the drums. As son of a well known guitar player and thus growing up in a musical family, his childhood was a never-ending jam session between Felix and his dad Michael Lehrmann – which lasts up to this day. Taking only private lessons with different teachers through the years, Felix found in Kenny Martin 2001 not only a mentor but also a good friend. After playing in numerous semi-pro bands, Felix Lehrmann started his professional career at the age of 17, when playing his first european tour with a singer called Della Miles. He still had to go to school for two more years to receive his graduation in 2004, but in the meantime he could not be stopped to play as many gigs and studio session as he could (or as many as his mother, who is a school teacher, allowed him to do). After finishing school, Felix immediately went on tour with a german TV star and singer Yvonne Catterfeld, which lasted for two years.

Sitzplatzreservierung

IMPORTANT: Please make sure to arrive at the club in time, but at least 15min before the concert starts, as we allocate seats on a first-come-first-serve basis. Arriving too late (less than 15min before the concert) may cause that your seats will be no longer available, especially when the concert is booked out.

In order to comply with the current distance and hygiene regulations, we will from now on present 2 shows per evening with a changing audience, as it is also common in cities like New York and London. This will create a very special, intimate and familiar atmosphere for you and us through the resulting new room layout with sofas and upholstered chairs distributed throughout the entire room and will ensure an even more intense and electrifying live music experience, which you will be able to enjoy more than ever before!

Reservations are limited due to social distance regulations.

We ask for your understanding that due to the newly regulated room layout, group reservations are more likely to receive a seat with a table than single person reservations. Thank you very much

(Our team has been thoroughly informed about the hygiene regulations. Please take note that we strictly adhere to the hygiene regulations and distance instructions).

ENTRANCE FEES
One of the reasons that makes the zig zag jazz club so unique is that it is the first and only jazz club in the world that manages to finance world class events through a crowd funding concept. How do we do it? Its quite simple… during the break of the concert we make an announcement regarding the collection for the evening. For most concerts (excluding the jam session) we inform our customers that a fee of around 15€ per person will allow us to fairly compensate the musicians. Some people give more and some give less… and that´s ok… we ´ve already successfully promoted hundreds of concerts like this!!!

EINTRITT
