The Jazz Messengers were an influential jazz combo that existed for over thirty-five years beginning in the early 1950's as a collective, and ending when long-time leader and founding drummer Art Blakey died in 1990, the bands music is high energy, super well arranged and virtuous.
-Dima Bondarev's devotion to jazz has been transforming into lifelong passion since the early childhood. From his early 20th Dima forms part of famous
Ukrainian jazz band Acoustic Quartet and Magnifika group (active member of both bands till present time), since 2007 participates in various
international music contests and festivals in Russia, Poland, Germany and Ukraine.
-Born in Tel-Aviv, Uri Gincel came to berlin in 2009 and quickly became one of the most in demand piano players on the scene, Uri toured the world with many projects, including "Uri Gincel Trio” and “Bonaparte” and studied under some major musicians as Arnie Lawrence and Walter Blending Jr.
-Ben Kraef is a German-Montenegrin saxophonist and composer based in Berlin, In 2007 he relocated to New York City on a grant from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and obtained a Master of Arts from The City College of New York in 2009.
-Andreas Lang
Nicknamed “The Viking” Andreas Lang powerful stage presence is unique and unparalleled. Andreas performed in Denmark with Anders Mogensen, Hans Ulrik, Kresten Osgood, Håvard Wiik and Mads la Cour. In 2007 he settled in Berlin and quickly established himself in the jazz scene there as a bassist in great demand. He has shared the stage with Jeremy Pelt, Bill Stewart, Rudi Mahall, Christian Lillinger, Oliver Steidle, Gunter Hampel, Henrik Walsdorff, Tobias Delius, John Schröder and many others. As a member of the group Hütte, he won the New German Jazz Award in 2013.
-Eric Vaughn, Son of (Jazz drummer) Robert Vaughn is the Owner Operator of Naked Jazz/ Arts Branding, From Savannah/Atlanta Georgia. Inducted to Coastal Jazz Hall of fame (Class Of 2014) . Jazz Curator - Werkstatt der Kulturen. Inventor of Living Art Time.

ENTRANCE FEES
One of the reasons that makes the zig zag jazz club so unique is that it is the first and only jazz club in the world that manages to finance world class events through a crowd funding concept. How do we do it? Its quite simple… during the break of the concert we make an announcement regarding the collection for the evening. For most concerts (excluding the jam session) we inform our customers that a fee of around 15€ per person will allow us to fairly compensate the musicians. Some people give more and some give less… and that´s ok… we ´ve already successfully promoted hundreds of concerts like this!!!

Einer der Gründe, die den Zig Zag Jazzclub so einzigartig machen, ist, dass er der erste und einzige Jazzclub der Welt ist, dem es gelingt nur durch freiwilligem Eintritt/Crowdfunding Events von Weltklasse zu finanzieren. Und wie machen wir das? Ganz einfach. Während der Konzertpause geben wir bekannt, dass wir Geld einsammeln werden. Bei den meisten Konzerten (außer Jam Sessions) informieren wir unsere Kunden, dass ein Beitrag von ungefähr 15 Euro es uns erlaubt die Musiker gerecht zu bezahlen. Manche geben dabei mehr und andere weniger... und das ist auch in Ordnung. Wir haben auf diese Weise schon Hunderte Konzerte organisiert.
