Jacqueline Boulanger (vocals) is known for her low and soft timbre, that people connect with the word Jazz. Equipped with a big range and the joy to celebrate she gives the audience a glance into her African soul.
"The jazz lady of the north" as she is tenderly revered to, is originally from Berlin has Congolesian roots and lives in Rostock.
Her current project includes songs that are very important to her. Songs that speak to her heart and are sincere and revered to truly lived stories. Mrs Boulanger give these songs her personal spin with refreshing arrangements. The outcome is a jazzy sound that has a funky and soulful aspect to it.
She will be accompanied by her longtime companions and international renowned musicians Tino Derado (piano, arr), Gabriel Coburger (sax, flute), Roland Schneider (dr) and her new member Haggai Cohen-Milo (bass) who recently moved to Berlin from New York.

Jacqueline Boulanger (voc) ist für das weiche, dunkle Timbre bekannt, das die meisten Menschen mit dem Wort Jazz verbinden. Mit einer großen Farbpalette, breitem Stimmspektrum und der Lust am Zelebrieren gewährt sie dem Publikum Einblick in ihre afrikanische Seele.
Die „Jazzlady des Nordens“, wie sie liebevoll genannt wird, ist gebürtige Berlinerin mit kongolesischen Wurzeln und derzeit an der Ostseeküste in Rostock beheimatet. Ein wenig ruhelos im Geist und immer gespannt auf Neues, arbeitet sie an Songs auf, die sie für unvergänglich hält und bewahren möchte. Songs, die etwas zutiefst Glaubhaftes, Erlebtes wiedergeben. Von der Sängerin in ihre eigene Interpretation verpackt.
Um eine bestimmte Stilistik ist sie nicht bemüht, es ergibt sich ein jazziger, souliger Sound mit Spuren von Gospel und Funk, der vor allem auch den langjährigen Musikern an ihrer Seite geschuldet ist. Mit Tino Derado (piano), Gabriel Coburger (sax), Roland Schneider (dr) und ihrem neuen Bandmitglied Haggai Cohen Milo (b), der in Berlin erst kürzlich aus New York eintraf, fährt sie mit hochkarätiger, international renommierter Besetzung auf.
