Richard Howell - 2014 Isadora Duncan award recipient for outstanding sound and music, accomplished international saxophonist, composer, songwriter, music producer, educator, and band leader. He performed with Etta James and the Roots Band, Chaka Khan, Maurice White, Carlos Santana, Taj Mahal, Christian Scott and many others. While in Africa Richard Howell performed at the Mali Music Conservatory with Fra Fra Sound and Toumani Diabate and was a guest performer with Salif Keita.
As an educator and Jazz emissary Richard Howell is affiliated with many Jazz education programs national and international. In 2013 at the Black Choreographer Festival the innovative dance and music performance, "Birds Eye View", a Richard Howell and Gregory Dawson collaboration of original jazz music and European classic ballet , had its debut. The performance music was based on Richard Howell's CD "We are all connected". In 2014 "In this Moment" , another Howell/Dawson collaboration was performed live in San Francisco - another masterful work of sound and movement with original musical compositions by Richard Howell.

January 16,2016 Richard Howell self produced an extravaganza concert featuring Oaktown Jazz Workshops and his powerful group Richard Howell and Sudden Changes at the landmark cornerstone Herbst theater . The Oaktown jazz workshop performed all music written by Richard Howell arranged by Frederick Harris while sudden Changes played the music from their new cd “Burkina” Richard Howell and Sudden Changes
